Note: The Oral-B iO Series uses a different charger and toothbrush head to the rest of the Oral-B electric toothbrush range.

The replacement head are generally more expensive too.

      Charger is the same

        • Same charger, I have an IO tootbrush and my daughter uses a normal vitality. When she chargers her toothbrush she uses my charger

          • @AirJordan23: I guess since they're both induction charger, it would be backward compatible.

            • @RichardL: Yeah, I think you are right about that.

              • @AirJordan23: To clarify for those reading the IO7, 8 and 9 uses a new magnetic induction charging base.

Up to io6 they still use the same charger. But from io7 it is a new "quick charge" type.

        • Yeah most likely it has the fast charger from that model to IO9

Are the IO's worth it over the older style Oral B's?

I think it is more powerful and you can see if you are brushing too hard as it has a light ring. But when it comes to brush heads, it is quite expensive.

    • I got the io 7, and I wont recommend the high ends models. I was tempted to send it back and buy the io 3, or even go back to normal oral B.

Heads quite expensive even on sale, and all the features quite useless (app, 5/6/7 modes, etc.) I end up always using sensitive head and sensitive mode.

EDIT: But yes, they look sick and well built.

    • I have used the old style for years and now have one of each as I sometimes brush teeth with the kids. I've found the iOs much more comfortable because they're less jarring, a bit like my wife's Sonic Diamondclean. Both are fine, but I'm glad I jumped on a special for the iO6, as I know with the new style charger I'd constantly knock over the iO7 and higher.

  • I have an Oclean which looks the same

    • It's a white labelled Oclean, I remember reading an article about it.

I have the io9 and it’s better than the older model top of line brushes. More powerful and better made. Nothing rubber to end up with mould either. Mine still looks new after a year and looks like it will stay that way for a while yet.

    • Does the i09 come with a case that you can charge view USB-C?
