  • How many kilerwat in this, I’m a 48 volt man.

  • Can we jumpstart with these?

My neighbour has held onto my Baseus for like 2 months now and they're scum so I'll probably need a new pack.

    • Nope can't muster the amps to jump start

      • Damn, thanks bud.

A bit expensive for it I think but atleast would be a decent portable ham radio power supply.

    • +1

      Can we jumpstart with these?

no. but Kings has jumpstarters look at one of those. good reviews too.

      • Thanks, will do. I've been eyeing theirs packs actually the last month since I don't expect mine back anytime soon, if ever.. 😪

        • +1

here someone asked the same thing on a past deal. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15244653/redir
I provided a link to one, but search the title on the ebay store they have multiple listings for the same product (even after filtering out the "combo" listings). and prices are always different.

          • @n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: Good infornation on your posts, thank you!

I have it in my cart. 😁👌🏼

            • +1

@WasBargain: yeah just one thing I noticed is the capacity seems small. well they don't even list the voltage of the capacity which is the main problem.
(but at least better than the mountain of other crap on ebay that claims 100000mAh when it's not possible for the size)

but plenty of reviews saying 100% dependable and reliably starts everything they have tried (Kings claims up to V8 diesel engine). but you probably already read them already. 😁

              • @n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: That's a good point! Only probably 1 jump with a higher capacity car..

My 20k Baseus used to jump my sportbike with 40% usage, so with a full charge I could get 2 full jumps and 15 - 20% (maybe 75% charge for most phones) if I needed it.

                • @WasBargain:

Only probably 1 jump with a higher capacity car..

should be more than that though. because you are meant to leave it stored. shouldn't have to charge it every month. if only 1 start in it then if you forget to charge it for 3 months or something it might not even be able to do 1 start making the product useless.

at least that's the whole point of it right when the car unexpectedly doesn't start. any starter should have at least 3 regular starts in it minimum imo, so maybe 2/3 left when discharged after a month or two. that's just how I would expect it to work.

10000mAh rating might be at 12.8v which would be 35000mAh @ 3.7v and I think it is close in size to those Baseus power banks in that recent deal (haven't confirmed).

  • One day this will be on a 'down ' cycle ($199) at the same time as a Shopback Westpac promo 10% x 2
Thats what I am waiting for - an effective price of $160
Looks like they use the Biozet sales method, Price goes up, price goes down, up down up down up down

Price goes up, price goes down, up down up down up down

I have been watching and yes it changes like every 1 to 2 days. but good thing is you can depend on the lower price coming back quickly (with a different eBay code).

also FYI on previous deals some people called in and 4WD Supa Centre was happy to price match eBay if you C&C'ed but not sure about this Afterpay deal. I guess it helps them to reduce ebay fees.

You only need to watch their prices for a week to realise what the 'real rrp' is. For this, 199-210 is the real rrp. It's that price every 2-3 days.

  • BTW Anaconda do pretty much the exact same thing - I would think same factory in China
    https://www.anacondastores.com/camping-hiking/fridges-cooler…

    • +1

Anaconda one is a bit more premium.

      Wireless charging.
      60w vs 45w usb in
DC out port. With selectable 12 or 24v
4A vs 2A DC in charging
      Led Display.
      AC power supply included.
      DC cable and adapters included.

Not sure the extras justify the premium price though.

Kickass one is pretty much identical and a bit cheaper and includes PD cig socket adapter, and a carry case. Pick of the bunch I reckon.

      https://kickassproducts.com.au/products/kickcharge-300-24ah-…

Also on eBay so can get this after pay discount so $270 +$10 postage.

      • Nice -hadn't seen the Kickass one.
looks like the Dune and the Kickass can take 80w solar charging too

        • +1

Neither had I until I read some of the dune reviews.

Looks like the solar charging is just via DC input so kings could probably do the same, but only 40w.

        • yeah I have actually known about the Kickass and Dune (from Anaconda) since I searched around awhile ago.

but tbh the price difference just kills the value. they are so similar pretty sure they use the same LifePO4 and are made in the same place.
the only difference was Kickass and Dune have DC barrell output on top of the input that Kings has and a LCD screen for battery indication. oh and you can choose the voltage of the DC barrell output by pressing a button (something like 9/12/18V).

but the Kickass which is the closest in price to the Kings, was asking $100 more even with code. Dune is even more expensive with some bad reviews but pretty sure they are all the same product making Kings the best value. paying $100 $200 more just for the DC barrell output is a bit much.

          • +1

@n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: The differences between kick Ass and kings are pretty substantial. Key ones for me being: DC out port (with cable and adapters) , Wireless charger, Higher charge rates for usb and DC, included 60w USB Cig adapter, 70w mains charger and storage bag. Also not Kings ;)

Worth the extra $75 (delivered) for some people I reckon.

            • @watts: yeah it does 60w USB-C in which is higher than the Kings 45w USB-C in. I actually missed that part when I looked them up thought they were talking about USB-C out which is 60w for both.

yeah lots of goodies included but as I mentioned in another comment the 70w AC charger heats up over 60 degrees during use and apparently means it's outside Aus regulations. higher charge rates definitely useful though for the 24Ah size. wireless charger? I don't really need it. more efficient to charge wired which you would probably do with limited energy in a battery pack situation.

comparing delivered prices you wrote above $270 +$10 total after discounts (I think you are talking about $15 off $100 popup)? so I am getting $280-$195 = $85. I think $85 is just a fair price for most of those accessories. barrel adapters look useful though and imo the DC barrel output and faster DC charge is the main reason.
for me the calculation was click and collect which is the cheapest method for both so $284-$180 = $104.

well the main point I wanted to make was I think the Kickass and Dune can drop in price.

    • I would think same factory in China

yeah I agree. even the ports are in the same place and many similarites in spec.

keep in mind those 2 expensive ones kickass and dune come with AC adapters to charge. but one reviewer measured the temperature of I think the kickass one while charging (I would expect both come with the same cheap adapter) and it measured over 60 degrees. reviewer stated it's over the safe australian limit and they will be reporting it.

      • sorry needed to be more clear. it's the AC adapter that becomes 60 degrees not the actual power pack.

  • price is back up to to $349 + $15 postage.

Pack with the LED strip light is still cheapish though. $229 + $25 postage.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/175815065937

    • I'd prob take this for $197.10 over that.

      • Yeah that’s better in many ways but I reckon the price and portability of the 24Ah suits my modest needs bettter.

I guess another $200++ for a battery box, charger/s (DC-DC, AC, Solar) and a usb-c PD outlet. Still won’t have usb PD in for charging.

Even in the kings compact battery box the 60ah is over 10x the volume of the 24ah.

      • just wait around and price will come back down eventually. sometimes not guaranteed on every 1-2 day price cycle, but at least once a week.
also keep in mind the eBay code can expire and a new one will pop up.
