Love the Airmini (and the new Airsense 11). Beautifully made machines!

    • Hi mate,
How easy or difficult for someone to trial it? My doctor recommended renting one to trial. Does it require someone monitoring & adjusting the settings or would it be straight forward. Your response will be greatly appreciated.

I'd recommend going to a sleep therapy specialist, eg. About Sleep. Just get a referral from your GP.
I went through a specialist doctor and that was super expensive, all they did was refer me to the sleep therapy guys anyway. They do the monitoring and would recommend settings after the trial.

        • Tqsm. Booked an appointment with the sleep therapy specialist. Already seen a Sleep Physician before and don't want to see him again before I try this CPAP, which is what he recommended during the appointment

@wise penny: just make sure they allow you to trial the airmini, I'm pretty sure the place I went to didnt have the airmini to trial, but I bought it anyway from another online retailer

            • @S7iCkSt3R: Sure. Who adjust the settings for you when you buy it yourself? Did you adjust based on the experience gained so far?

              • @wise penny: Yes, I just adjusted it myself. Found that I had to reduce the maximum pressure as it was drying out my nasal passages too much, even with the HumidX tablets

                • @S7iCkSt3R: Good to know the side effect - Drying. Thanks for all the insights.

  • Considering one of these for a upcoming flight. What would a battery cost and how much rubtime can it get?

    • Planes have power points on the floor of the plane hidden, and you can plug the cpap directly into it, no need for a battery.

      • You might want to get USB power converter. As some planes only have USB as supply.

    • I bought this pack a couple of years back and do not regret. Comes with a Medistrom Battery Pack which lasts around 2 nights, but I usually charge it after each night. Used it on many overnight flights, very handy. Probably a tiny bit cheaper for you to get OP's deal and get the battery separately.

    Are these CRAP?

I trialled the airsense 10 and bought the airmini but I've found the airmini to be reasonably louder than the airsense 10. Just my 2c

Airsense 10 is best, if you dont need portability. Mine hasnt skipped a beat for 7 years. I believe the motors in them are bigger than the AirMini/Airsense11.

I do have an AirMini as backup and I used this on a trip recently. I still prefer the AirSense10 though.

  • bugger, just had my one delivered literally this morning

Don’t try and perform a CPAPSMEAR with this, wrong tool for that job.

  • I just bought myself the airsense 11 autoset, hoping this deal is available again later in the year!
