All of these overpriced soft drink merchants on life support after assuming a human habit that has endured millennia would vanish in the wake of the whole COVID shemozzle & people would simply switch to drinking weird tasting booze analogues.

Gordons Gin - $40 - 95% of which is taxes.
Gordon Gin Zero - $30 - 95% of which … profit?
that's the kicker with non-alcoholic drinks .. the manufacturers are taking the piss with profits
The Gordons gin for example …$41 of which $26 is excise, leaving $15 of product, yet the zero version is $38.
Then in some cases the manufacturer wants to market a premium on top of the alcoholic version for their boutique excise free product
6 months ago the woolworths metro near my office was clearing out the zero alcohol white "wine" for $2 a bottle. so I bought 4 bottles.
my 16 year old was having a party that evening so I chilled them in the work fridge, and then scratched off any reference to "non-alcoholic".
later that evening, when my 16 year old was chilling in her room with friends just before kick off time, i presented them with the 4 chilled bottles of white "wine" and said - "hey, have a great party".
my 16 year old and friends were like "OMG, seriously!??!!! you're the best!!!"
3 hours later my 16 year old came up to me and exclaimed "holy crap!! that was alcohol free"
I laughed.
