Thanks. I don't need any of the other stuff in that deal apart from the lightning adapter and cable - but I'm sure others will bite!

    • hi padfoot, do you need a lightning adapter, lightning cable and a 30pin cable?
how about a bundle for you $25 for both including registered shipping?

      • +1

        without the 30pin cable please..

        • +1

          $24 without the 30pin
if you guys are interested, let me know to create a product for you

        • Thanks for the offer but I'll wait it out for now :D

  • I'm assuming the cable and adapter are not Apple parts?

    • +1

      hi Gadget Guy

yes they are 3rd party gear from china
the adapter does not provide audio out but charges, syncs and data transfers as per the website

      thanks
      Nima

  • +1

Griffin in photo but didn't mention in description.

I highly doubt it genuine Griffin product.

The product from Griffin online store would only cost a little more.

    • +1

      hi Syl,
our supplier says that it is genuine griffin,
we can tell you that its a dual usb car charger and that it is working.
Chinese copies are so good these days its hard to guarantee anything as genuine but if you have a way of determining they are fakes, i am happy to test it out!

      thanks
      Nima

      • -3

So, the iP5 stuff is not licensed - Who cares, let Apple chase it up.

The Griffin stuff may not be genuine - Again, who cares, other than Griffin.

However, the "USB Charger". Is that legal to sell/supply in Australia? Is it safe to use in Australia?

        • -1

          hi a3,
yes i am testing every product on my own device before shipping them out
all of them are made to be used in australia by australian standards.

          thanks
          Nima

Not according to the pictures used on your website.

I just went there and saw the 'large' pic of the USB Wall Charger.

          No insulation on the pins.

No C-Tick (of course, as no insulation), no Supplier Number, and no way of knowing if it has passed the Electrical Safety Standards for Australia.

It may not be safe to use in Australia, and it is certainly unlawful for you to sell or supply these items.

        • -2

          hi a3,
thank you for your feedback - i will investigate this.
we have made contact with the acma with our business details to get the appropriate sticker labels.

our supplier ships these products to us as OEM which usually come like this,
if you have any doubts about the wall adapter i am happy to take it out of the bundle for you and include a different product, just make a note in your order.

          thanks
          Nima

if you have any doubts about the wall adapter i am happy to take it out of the bundle for you

If the item you are selling is in fact the one pictured though, it is not only illegal for you to sell it in Australia, it is unsafe, and not worth the risk for ANY amount of $ savings.

        • +1

          hi Geewhizz,
the images are for illustration purposes only
the charger we have looks the same but is not the one pictured,
rest assured, we will not be shipping anything against australian law.
all products will go through a thorough testing process and have appropriate approvals prior to shipping.

          thank you
          Nima

        • +1

          i will investigate this.

No need. You can see it is illegal (and perhaps dangerous) to supply this item. You must desist from doing so immediately.

we have made contact with the acma

It is an Electrical Safety matter. This is not a communications or media device.

to get the appropriate sticker labels.

          Huh? You are joking?

our supplier ships these products to us as OEM which usually come like this,

Nothing to do with anything, and does not absolve you from obeying Australian safety legislation.

if you have any doubts about the wall adapter i am happy to take it out of the bundle for you and include a different product, just make a note in your order.

I have no doubts now. You do not seem to understand. You must remove this item from ALL orders. It must not be sold or supplied. It is not lawful for you to supply this item. It may fail and kill or injure someone. It may cause a fire. Without question it is a danger to children.

        • +1

          Hi A3,
taking your recommendation on board - we have changed the bundle to have a screen protector instead of the ac charger until we can get certification from acma.

          thank you for your feedback,
i would appreciate if drop our negative rating

          thanks again
          Nima

        • -1

we have changed the bundle to have a screen protector instead of the ac charger until we can get certification from acma.

This is the right thing to do. However, you can not get an Electrical Safety Certification from the ACMA. The device needs to be tested by an approved testing facility. You (the importer) need to be registered as a supplier.

I assume the Griffin Card Charger carries the C-Tick logo with Griffin's Supplier Number? (eg. N123)

i would appreciate if (sic) drop our negative rating

I would, but you were a bit late in doing 'the right thing', and you still do not seem to understand the possible ramifications of illegally importing and selling un-certified electrical items. Nor do you appear to understand how to legally import/supply such items.

  • Can you get adapters that do music? I get my iPhone 5 in a few weeks and want to listen to music in my dock.

    • +1

      hi berger
we are actively chasing this down as well as an adapter cable(20cm) that does music out but right now all my suppliers are telling me there are no audio out adapters available and working in china.

as soon as we can get our hands on one, test a sample - you can bet we will be doing a deal!

      thanks
      Nima

  • +1

Sorry, but failure of the Rep/Owner to remove the illegal/unsafe component of this deal from sale, means that I must 'neg' this 'bargain.

Unfortunate, as he has done well previously.

    • +2

      hi a3,
we changed the ac wall to screen protector
we take all comments on board and of course will never provide an unsafe product to the public.
community input is very important to us and helps us grow our business in the direction of its members.

i thank you sincerely for your input and we hope to provide an AC compliant charger in the very near future.

      thanks
      Nima

The fact is you should know this and not be offering illegal/unsafe products. Not rely on negative feedback from ozbargain before realising or changing.

        • hi Rocket,

as previously stated, we would never offer an illegal or unsafe product
if we have to get a replacement product for one that does not meet australian laws / guidelines we will do so.

we have already been looking for compliance before offering the deal but we wanted to bring the offer and allow people to get a jump start on it.

we removed the ac adapter from community feedback but we once we have compliance, we will be offering the AC adapter even in this bundle (whether that be the current model we have or a replacement model is yet to be determined)

          thanks
          Nima

        • It has been law for probably 5 years that all plugs must be insulated.
So why did you not pick this up immediately?
Why would you offer it in the first place?
What else are you offering that is not certified or safe?

        • hi Rocket,
we are a small start up business.
as i stated previously, we would not ship an illegal product

right now the product is under investigation, we do not know whether it is certified or not - the picture is not of the product we have, it is just there for illustrative purposes.

if we find that our product is fine, we will replace the screen protector again but we have taken your and a3's feedback into consideration and temporarily excluded the product.

those who have already ordered the deal with ac adapter will be receiving a certified, insulated, safe, australian ready adapter.

          thanks
          Nima

          Rocket wrote

They are a very new business, not yet registered for GST. They have less than ten items for sale. Of these items, the unbranded Wall Charger and the unbranded Car Charger are not certified, and the Griffin Car Charger may not be certified.

        • +1

          Our car chargers are certified
          Thank you
          Nima

        • Really?

Not the ones pictured on your website. They do not appear to have a C-Tick or a number. If they do, would you please post the supplier number.

Perhaps the Griffin carries certification? It is not shown in your pictures, but will be on the box and on the device.

        • A3, the images are for illustrative purposes only.
The importer of the car chargers gets the certification - we source these internally

        • +1

The importer of the car chargers gets the certification - we source these internally

          I guess you meant 'locally'.

  • +2

    I should explain.

The lack of insulation allows 'little fingers' to touch the 'live' pins before they are completely out of the wall socket.

I understand that some children were injured in the past, and this is why this insulation was added to the standard for Australia.

As well as the lack of insulation problem, the lack of a safety certification means that the item may fail 'un-safely'. Causing a fire or allowing 240volts to pass through.

As well as the above, it may not regulate the voltage correctly - causing harm to your iPhone (or just erratic behavior). This may not happen until after some time of use (charger heating up etc.).

    • +1

      thank you a3,

i am a kickstarter so i am learning as quick as i can,

i am being very cautious before shipping anything out so they would have never been shipped like this without certification. i know these ac adapters exist with c ticks so i will be getting hold of them today so hopefully we can change the bundle back from screen protectors to ac chargers.

community feedback is always encouraged and appreciated

      thanks again
      Nima

I'm glad that law exists, it's saved me before when I was putting something in in the dark.

      • I'm glad that law exists, it's saved me before when I was putting something in in the dark.

You must have small fingers. The insulation was introduced because of children, but I guess it would protect anyone with small fingers.

Of course the insulation is only one small part of the electrical safety standards.

  • +1

i know these ac adapters exist with c ticks so i will be getting hold of them today

I don't, and I have been looking. If you do find this size, and type, of charger WITH Australian certification - please let me know.

    • actually a few years ago, apple used to make them.
our supplier says he has them and we are waiting for a sample now

  • -2

actually a few years ago, apple used to make them.

You really have no idea, do you? Yes, Apple supplied this type/size of charger with USA market iPhones. However, it was not certified for use in Australia, and certainly did not have the angled AU type prongs.

our supplier says he has them and we are waiting for a sample now

And just who would be the Australian supplier - the person registered with the C-Tick? This is who must give you permission to use their C-Tick.

    • Hi a3
Please leave this with us, we will offer the wall charger when we have followed the process. For now the item is not being offered

      Thank you

If consumer willing to take a risk to buy goods from internet. "It may fail and kill or injure someone", if you are buying goods from internet, that are what people asking for get killed or injured or died at their own hand don't blame the seller.
And if you are goverment agency or officer, take them down, and dont come to Ozbargain with all this shit. Peace, Love You All. Love Ozbargain.

we are an internet based company, we are very small and we are not lawyers or electricians to know all the standards.

we do appreciate a3 for notifying us that the product may not meet Australian standards so that we can investigate. of course we do not want to sell anything that is likely or possible to injure anyone and we would always make sure we are fulfilling our legal requirements before shipping anything out.

we hope for the most part our community within ozbargain and the wider internet community can help us on this front. we feel our company to be very open and malleable to the needs of its consumers.

      again, thank you very much

You are an Australian company, selling via the internet. Even as a one man business you must abide by the laws and legislation.

and we are not lawyers or electricians to know all the standards

Unfortunately, this does not matter - ignorance is no excuse. As a company/business you must employ the correct standards, employ due diligence, and/or employ lawyers/experts to do it for you.

the product may not meet Australian standards

MAY NOT? It does not, as it has no compliance. It will not comply as it has no insulation.

we do not want to sell anything that is likely or possible to injure anyone and we would always make sure we are fulfilling our legal requirements before shipping anything out.

I hope that you will be destroying these Wall Chargers, or (if cost effective) returning them to your supplier for a refund.

Umm, safety laws exist for a reason, and it is illegal for ANYONE, whether it's on the internet or $2 shops and the like to sell goods that do not comply with them.

The way I read what you're saying is if you risk buying from the internet you're accepting that the goods may be unsafe, and if they get harmed as a result of that unsafe product it's their own fault ???

That's not the way it works - why SHOULD B&M stores be bound by a set of regulations that do not apply to online suppliers?

      • this conversation is now irrelevant, we are no longer including the wall adapter in the bundle.

        thank you
        Nima

    • A3Australia and Rocket, you are guys are idiot,

One only has to read the rest of your post to understand just who could be "an idiot".

Nima Moradi has an Australian company, OZESERVICES PTY LTD, and must run this business under Australia's laws and legislation - just as other Australian businesses must do.

Eventually he must register for GST as well.

      • actually i only have to register for gst if my turnover is over $75k

        • actually i only have to register for gst if my turnover is over $75k

As I wrote "Eventually he must register for GST as well."

I note that you are using your personal bank account to receive payments.

        • Not if I never plan on trading over 75k
And my banking is none of your business

        • Not if I never plan on trading over 75k

You still have to pay the GST don't you? Or are you using your company to import, paying GST at landed cost, and then taking retail sale payments personally?

And my banking is none of your business

It is on public display on the website.

  • shame i bought your previous offer, can you do a deal on car charger alone ?

    • The dual car charger
Unfortunately due to the size it costs a minimum $6.60 to deliver. Why don't you see if some of your friends want one too and we can do something like 5 for $25 delivered

      • The dual car charger

Rep, I can't help but notice that you have not replied about the certification of both the Griffin Dual USB Car Charger and the unbranded Single USB Car Charger.

I know these items are not a great safety concern, but they also require compliance. Kmart had to withdraw this type of item from sale recently, as it lacked compliance.

        • a3, i have a full time job, family and run this company to provide deals to consumers.
if you are worried about our compliance, feel free to report us to the authority and we will take it up with them. i wonder whether you scrutinize every company this way.

i simply do not have the time to answer your questions when there are many legitimate customers i need to service that are not simply trolling pages to cause trouble. if you purchase the product you can read the information on the pack and on the product for yourself.

          thank you
          Nima

        • -1

Sorry to note the change in your tone.

Strange that you had the time to change your website within minutes, but can't take a second to look at the chargers for the compliance.

As I wrote before - the pictures on your site show that the Single Car Charger has no compliance.

        • -1

I can make the time a3, but for you I choose not to. I see by your naysayer history that this is quite a hobby of yours and I will not indulge you. Find a different playground, I will not be bullied

Edit: also as I stated previously several times, images are for illustrative purposes only

        • Rep, if those single USB chargers are compliant - post the compliance.

The same with the branded Dual chargers.

As I posted - even Kmart with hundreds of staff and trained buyers make mistakes regarding compliance. Why not admit your mistake and withdraw the product(s) from sale? Just as Kmart did.

        • -1

          Hi a3
Thank you for your ongoing concern

I found this deal and for some reason wasted 15 minutes reading through the comments. I made an account just to reply. A3Australia, It is great you have raised your concerns with the REP (clickship), and it took a while for him to understand the situation, however it doesn't seem like you can let go.

The deal has been modified, the item is no longer on the website. There is a fine line between being useful, and annoying, and you crossed the line about 4 posts in. The other 592 posts are pointless.

Take a break from the PC, unless you enjoy badgering people online on a Saturday night of course.

The deal is great, I am buying one. I would have bought one with the wall charger as well I like to live life on the edge.

          Thanks
