Swapping iPhone for Android, what can you tell me?

Hello, I've sold my iPhone on eBay and my Note 2 from Kogan should get here next Friday.

Ive never used Android before, What are the main music program's ill be using instead of iTunes, also, I'd like suggestions on iTunes Genius equivalents.

Also, any good places for getting free apps? I see a lot of ios stuff on OB but not much else.

Also, what's the word on out of the box 720p mkv playback?

Also, where do I get decent headphones with mic and music controls?

Any other thoughts?

i don't really use a main music program, i just drag and drop my music files onto the phone

Free APK's can be downloaded from certain sites so you can pretty much get any game you want for free

As for earphones, all earphones should work as it has a 3.5mm jack

  • If you are so used to the iPhones method of managing music (i.e. through a program that forces you to sync rather than drag/drop) then you might be interested in DoubleTwist, a free windows app.

However, for wireless syncing or streaming of music you will need to pay for the full Airtwist android app which is $4.99

On my SGS2 I use the MXplayer and Mvideo player which both handles MKV files.

I'm not sure if the default player in Android handles MKV (if it does not, you simply download one of the apps I mentioned above — it's free anyway.

Try the Meelectronics store or Mp4nation Brainwavz

As for music player apps, I highly recommend using and paying for PowerAmp.

If you want to continue using iTunes to manage your music, you can, but you need to purchase iSyncr from the App store to allow iTunes to sync media to an Android device.
