This popular leading CPU air cooler is back on sale, and performs a tiny bit better than the venerable Peerless Assassin 120 SE.

The ARGB version is also available for a few dollars more:
Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE ARGB, $54.90

As always, if you have a small PC case, make sure you check the dimensions to ensure good fit as this is a chunky boi.
A fan Y-splitter cable is included, so don't fret if you only have one CPU fan header like me.

I recently got a 5700X3D and paired this with the PS 120 SE; when undervolted to -30 across all cores it never exceeds 62°C at max load, and spends most of its time in the 40s and 50s during everyday use and while gaming. I'm using Fan Control to set the fans to 50% speed (~950rpm) and they're very quiet — extremely happy with this.

One of the best CPU air coolers, it beats or matches other coolers that cost the twice the price. Get it if you need one.

Agree, one of the best value CPU cooler and keeps my 10700F well under 40°C most of the time.

As always, amazing value for money. Similar to OP, Keeps my 5600x well under 60°C at max load / stress testing with the fans < 1000 rpm.

  • Will this fit in a NR200?

    • Yes it will.

It's inside mine right now :)

Just make sure it's the SE version.

Have one cooling a 7700x, no trouble.

    • What temps do you get with that CPU and this cooler?

      • +5

If you mean in synthetic benchmarks, thats not a valid question for am5 chips; since they're thermal limited well before they're current limited on ANY air, and most water at that!

Everyone who has PBO enabled, without eco mode should tell you "95c", which is what AMD officially targets as a safe limit.

Doing normal desktop and gaming activities has it a nice comfortable 75-80c.

        15c is Plenty of headroom.

I used to overclock competitively, so cpus and temps are an area I understand well.

        • Same xD I think it barely cracks 50 tbh and it's so quiet

        • Thanks for the comprehensive answer, appreciate it.

Thanks OP, copped one in preparation for a new system .

  • Hey OP why did you undervolt your CPU? Can you share your puroses, and values, thanks?

I might need limited with my PSU, so might have to look up to undervolt some stuff (but have never done it)
