Niiice. Shame it's not one with xe graphics which are perfect for this form factor, but it's still pretty fantastic for price.

  • This or the beelink ser5 max

    Hmmm… looks like it doesn't have HDMI 2.0 support… so no 4k at 6hz..
pretty much useless as a HTPC or even an offfice PC if you want to use 4k..

    According to some specs..

Hard to know whether this is true or not..

    • The specs are wrong, it lists the GPU in the i5-8259U - the Iris Plus 655 (which is also in the third image), not this chip.

It also says 11th gen, one of the images says "Celeron inside", it says the CPU speed is 4.5ghz at one point (it's 4.4), it's basically a mess as they keep updating the same listing with new machines. I'd be shocked if it didn't support HDMI 2.1.

    • I have one of these and I'm pretty sure that's incorrect, I use it with an ultra wide 1440p monitor which it happily drives at 85hz but that's a limitation of the KVM I'm using, I will plug it into my 4k tv later to confirm.

  • This or shield tv pro 4k as a media device using Kodi + RD? 🤔

    • This is overkill as a media PC, an N100 would be plenty capable.

      • Thanks for the heads up. Just saw the N100 model was on sale but OOS already. Sad..I'll keep an eye out

        • MeLE Quieter4C N100, 8GB RAM, 128GB eMMC is $265

          https://amzn.asia/d/gfLEguE

I have 2 of these and they are good little things, the 128GB eMMC is soldered but it has an NVMe slot too so you can expand the storage.

      • hmm it depends. agree op'd for a media server but if you plan on streaming games it's not a bad deal.

        • Ye, just media PC use. Currently works ok with my smart TV, but want a snappier experience 🙂

          Cheers both

    • Shield pro has probably the best upscaling for video content, go with that instead.

I've had one of these since December and I'm pretty happy with it.

    Pros:
Lots of performance for the price, the 12450h has 4P+4E cores and 12 total threads.
Came with good RAM, can't recall the brand but will check when I'm home.
    2x NVMe slots
    Support for SATA 2.5" HDD/SSD
Has TPM so no Win 11 bypass hacks required
Supports 64GB RAM, Windows 11 install fails but Linux runs happily.

    Cons:
Plastic enclosure and power button feels cheap
Poor quality SSD, Bwin brand, 1x NAND chip, poor performance compared to better drives.
NVMe slots are close to each other and the wifi card so fitting drives with heatsinks can be challenging.
No Windows key, not properly activated so when you reinstall Windows it won't activate.

Overall though for the price it's a solid performer.
