Using Uber or Other Taxi / Ride Apps in Japan with Promo Code

Hi all,

My wife and I are planning a trip to Tokyo and Osaka with our young kids in few months.

Though we will mainy use the public transport, occasionally we are planning to use taxi especially when kids are tired from those theme park visits.

A friend of mine from Korea has told me that promo codes for 2000 yen discounts on Uber have been widely available for Korean residents to use Uber in Japan. I tried the codes my friend shared but could not get them to work on my Uber app (I assume that you need Korean credit card and/or phone number to register those codes).

I wonder if anyone is aware of discount promo codes for Uber or other taxi apps in Japan (Didi, Go taxi) that are available to Aussie travellers visiting Japan.
