If you buy this, make sure you got no surrounding neighbours for 1km lol

  • My old Yamaha DSP-A1 challenges for volume but sadly not codecs and slinks off into a very loud corner, aged 26 but still sounds very sweet with basic 5.1 or 7.1.

I once blew the 10A fuse on my UPS with that beast

    • Omg DSP-A1. What an amp. I couldn’t afford that one so went for the rxv-2095 (I think that was the model number). Now I just have a soundbar lol

  • Looks tempting

  • INTEGRA DRX2.4 or sony AN1000?

      sony

      • thanks, but any particular reason? is it because of the 3D sound/object placement tech on the Sony?

Hoping for someone with AV knowledge to help choose between Onkyo Rz50, denon x3800h and DRX-5.4 $2899. TIA

    • First of all, why do you need such a powerful AV? The best way to narrow it down is by looking at the features that you are after than asking some random who just prefers one brand.
Another option would be Google, https://forums.audioholics.com/forums/threads/onkyo-tx-rz50-…

      1. Which speaker you will run for and how many subwoofers?
      2. Onkyo and Integra comes with Dirac software for free whilst Denon requires fee for Dirac
      3. Do you need 3D sound, if so Denon has this feature whilst Onkyo and Integra don't have 3D sound
      4. Are you running 11 channels or 9 channels?
      • Got an existing 5.1 setup with Jamo speakers and Denon Avr 2313. Want to slowly move to the next step. Hence was considering starting with a more powerful amp.

    • Both the Onkyo RZ50 and the Denon x3800h are selling for $1999 at the moment.

They are pretty similar, with some minor differences.

The Onkyo and Integra can do up to 5.1.4/7.1.2, and with an external amplifier 7.1.4. To use 7.1.4 the surround back rear speakers must use an external amplifier - it is not configurable. Both have outputs for two subwoofers.

The Denon can can do up to 5.1.4/7.1.2, and with an external amplifier 7.1.4. To use 7.1.4, an external amplifier must be connected to the front, second-row height, or surround back rear speakers. It is configurable. The Denon has outputs for four subwoofers.

The Onkyo and Integra have Dirac Live room correction, while it is an optional (paid) upgrade for the Denon. The Denon has Audyssey MultEQ XT32.

It depends on what features you want.
