    Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Osaka (Kansai) (19 January 2024 – 24 March 2024) from $395
    Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Osaka (Kansai) (21 January 2024 – 24 March 2024) from $330

    you mean 2025?

    • stupid script. fixed, thx :)

  • Nice to see Jetstar prices to Japan are healing, but this needs to be the Return Free prices again, not one way. :P I DO have to return after all. Sadly.

    • i always found the 'return free' wound up more expensive than buying each way on sale usually, might depend on your specifics but it never worked out too well for me

Jetstar had the worst on Time Performance stats for April 2024 for on time arrivals and departures.

30% higher cancellation rate than Virgin.
120% higher cancellation rate than Rex.

Now with Bonza out, they don't seem to want to put in the effort.

    • +12

Bonza went into voluntary administration on April 30, so was unlikely to affect the stats of Jetstar for April.
You cherry picked and missed that their cancellation rate is lower than Qantas.

    • +2

True, but Rex doesn't fly to Japan, and Virgin's service from Cairns to Haneda hasn't exactly been historically that reliable either.

Is there a cheap return from Osaka in November?

  • How much to get back from Japan?

  • -5

How do you see or get these prices? I search for Melbourne to Kansai on 10th of July 2024 and the price is over $1100 (return) with Jetstar. That is the rough price range for every day in July.

    • +5

      a) it won't be every day in July and b) school holidays would probably impact that.

But here's an example from Melbourne in July from $667 return: https://bookings.beatthatflight.com.au/flights/mel1507kix300…

I find it easier to look for one way tickets to find the cheap days to fly on, and then look for one way tickets back, and then combine.

      Say sorry

  • Just got back from Japan! Already had plans to go back. But adding South Korea into the mix. Not ready for a sale yet :)
Went with Jetstar with their last return free sale. Went Brisbane to Osaka as they were direct flights.

    • We booked to go Feb using the nippon deal. Know zilch about the place and don’t speak Japanese . Everyone raves about the place though.

      • +3

I speak some Japanese and have spent ~6 weeks over 4 trips there. It's perhaps more 'interesting' to try and read the text if you understand a bit - finally that high school Japanese could be used, but even if you just learn please, thank you, numbers to 10, and where is, they're VERY accommodating people and very understanding that foreigners can't read their script, let along speak their language much.

Definitely one of my favs tho!

  • The dates listed are for Japan's summer, which is really hot and humid. Can anyone please recommend holiday locations in Japan that aren't too hot in summer.

Is Hokkaido any cooler than the more southern islands?

    • +1

There are also a few for winter dates!

      • Thanks, but I'm in Brisbane, which the airlines seem uninterested in. The Gold Coast flight is possible, but I'd rather wait for the next deal.

Thanks for publishing all these deals!

        • +1

You might of missed this one in the list.

          Brisbane to Osaka (Kansai) (21 January 2024 – 24 March 2025) from $340

          • @escorpse: You're right, I did miss that! I think I wasn't paying close attention, and was distracted by most of the dates being 2024. Thanks, looking at flights now!

            • +1

@Russ: No problem, missed it at first myself. Typo with the Jan date threw me off originally.
Looking at going back Feb myself, but most likely doing South Korea beforehand. So need to sit down and plan what we are doing.
