30% off Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra 256GB, $150 off Trade-in, 5% off First Shop App Order from $1,375 Delivered @ Samsung Education

350

Must be purchased through Education Store. I created a Samsung Store account using my personal email, then added a family member's edu.au email address when prompted. They'll need to click a link sent through to their edu.au account, at which point I could log-in without being hassled on my device. Note: when I tried to log-in on another device, it prompted me to input the edu.au email again, which would need to be verified again. YMMV.

This deal is slightly better than the previously posted deal that ended on 22 May.

5% off is for your first time purchase through Shop App.

$2,199 x 70% = $1,539.30 - $155 ($5 trade-in + $150 bonus) = $1,384.30 x 95% (Shop App) = $1,315.08 + $65 ($5 trade-in + $60 late fee) = $1,375.08

I spoke with Samsung Chat and they advised a one-time late fee payment of $60 for not sending in the trade-in phone, plus the refund for the chosen trade-in phone (I chose Samsung Galaxy S8 - $5). I heard people talking about being charged a second $60 fee, so I asked Samsung Chat and this is what they said:

Samsung Chat: You have 7 days to return your device to Asurion once you receive your new eligible Galaxy device. If you do not return your device within 14 days, you will be automatically charged a Late Return Fee of up to $60, which is non-refundable. The Security Charge will be held until your device is received and graded. Samsung may also charge you for any additional bonus credit applied to your order.

Me: so it's a one-time $60 fee for not sending the phone, and that's it?

Samsung Chat: Yes.

There's also an EOFY sale on the standard non-education store, which is $300 off + $300 extra trade-in value:

$2,199 - $300 = $1,899 - $305 ($5 trade-in + $300 bonus) = $1,584 x 95% = $1,514.30 + $65 ($5 trade-in + $60 late fee) = $1,579.30

  • Can someone confirm if the Trade-In thing works?

Also, for King’s Birthday, Samsung NZ had a $100 coupon which stacked on top of everything. Perhaps Samsung AUS might also have something like that?

    • I just purchased this deal, they charged me a $5 security for the trade-in phone (Galaxy S8) which I don't have, I just picked it because it was the first cheap phone I saw. That'll be refunded to them when they don't receive it. I can only go by what Samsung Chat and other OzBargainers have said until I get charged the late-fee myself.

But I did ask Samsung Chat if it's a one-time $60 fee, and that's it — and they said "Yes".

Don't we need the phone's IMEI number to trade in?

        • I googled an IMEI generator and generated an IMEI for a Galaxy S10 (couldn't find one for an S8 which I picked as trade-in phone), and it worked.

    • Where did you see the $100 King's Birthday promo, if i may ask?

Same deal through Enterprise Portal too. Anybody with a Westpac account can access.

    • Can you use the Enterprise Portal via the Samsung Shop app?

      • Not sure, but there is a 5% your first EPP order so that'd make up for losing the Shop app discount.

        • Ah thanks for sharing!

Does it pop up automatically? Or is there a code?

          • @jpwwong: It displayed in the list of discounts so I believe it's automatic

    • I'm trying to find this but it seems to say I need to have a Business One Plus account to access it?

      • I just have an everyday transaction account and it works fine. Odd

        • Did you just find it in the app?

          • +1

@Jinxinferno: Yeah in the rewards and offers section. But they've removed it now. Actually they removed it on 31st May even though that was when their offer was expiring.

    • Hi, I have a Westpac account. I'm not sure how to get to the "Enterprise Portal"?

      • From the app > more > rewards and offers > EPP

        • +1

          It's gone as of 31/5

          • @dogedjr: You are right, it's no longer there. Damn

            • +1

@OZBMate8911: Any Westpac ACC open app, more, rewards and offers, offers and rewards, Samsung ) it's still there it say 15% but when you add it. It's still 30% plus 5% fist time plus 150 trade in plus 100 If you use Westpac partway card

  • Never been charged a second $60 fees. I have done it a few times (about 5) and most times only got charged $30.

The cost of $30 vs $60 depends son the trade value of your device. Check older posts, under a certain trade in value it's $30.

I usually do a $1 trade-in and only get charged 30 in admin fees

    • Lowest seems to be $5

      • Say your watch is damaged

  • I have an old Samsung watch 4 with a cracked screen. Trade in value is $0 obviously but if I fail to say the cracked screen will they still charge $60 or will they just keep the tradein value?

    • They technically should be charging for you not sending anything in, but I've never seen them charger anything on my card.

      • Yeah, my son traded in his fold5 for s24u back on release and never got charged the $60 for failing to send it in. Sold his phone privately for considerably more than the Asurion offer.

        • I was just considering doing this with my Fold 5, can get $760 plus the $300 bonus, bringing the S24U to $834. Now you're telling me I don't even have to send the Fold 5 in?

          • @dead5pur: You don't have to send anything in but they will claw back the discount of your "traded in" device.

You get to keep any bonus trade in amounts, this is why we "trade" something even if it's for $1

      • 6.4 The Security Charge refund you receive may be reduced where:
        (a) You have posted in an In-Eligible Device to Us and We have determined that an
Ineligible Device Fee applies. In those circumstances, the offer to purchase Your Existing
Device will be withdrawn, Your Security Charge will not be refunded as it will be used to
satisfy payment of the In-eligible Device Fee and Your In-Eligible Device will be returned
        to You

Seems I'll get my watch back and not get charged the $60. And get to use it again next time…

    • I asked them about the condition because I was going to buy an S8 with a broken screen off eBay for like $38 to try avoid copping the $60 late fee. They said:

The device must be in a good working condition, you may still trade in a device with a scratch or crack on screen, however, trade in value is subject to change.

      and

The device must still be used, if it does not turn on at all, it is not eligible for trade in.

      • Things were easier when you could tradein $5 generic earbuds.

There is no extra $150 on this deal in trade in

    • There is, I purchased this deal and my invoice says $1,315.08

      • -2

After all discounts, it comes down to $1514 not $1315

Calling yourself a bargain hunter you're not doing a great job of doing that.

      • How do you add an education profile to a previously created normal samsung profile?

Tried to look for the option but can't find it.

        • Once you click onto the education store and sign in with your personal email, it prompts you to enter an edu.au account and approve approve the email that's sent to it, before you can continue to the store.

    I bought 1tb one $13xx when I preordered.
No more buy samsung phone after preorder…

    • +1

Did you trade something in for that?

Definitely would have been happier with a deal like that, but at the end of the day my last phone was hovering around 100GB / 256GB for pretty much the 5 years it was in use. Unless it's from a "free upgrade" offer, 256Gb is plenty for me and not worth spending the extra $$$.

  • wish the amex offer was still on

  • Any deal on the S24

  • I'm not receiving the $300 bonus for my trade-in; it's only applying a $5 discount for the device. Am I doing something wrong? What do I need to do to get the full $300 trade-in discount?

    Thanks

    • Works for me, maybe try searching "samsung eofy" on Google. S24 Ultra should be up the top saying "Save up to $600 on Galaxy S24 Ultra".

  • Has anyone had Samsung charge them for the trade-in bonus credit when you haven't sent a phone in?

    • +1

No. And it is not in the T&C for them to do so either.

  • Can't get the EOFY deal to work with trade in.

What's the final price for S24U 512GB via the education store?

    • It was around the low $1,500s. +$140 on top before the 5% discount is applied.

  • This is also available through Westpac (until 31 May).

I bought it the other week through them when it was 25% off + $250 bonus. Traded in a rogue $1 item. Total cost was $1328.24 with 5% off first purchase. Waiting to be charged $1 + $30 or $60. Could've saved an extra $10 bucks :( But I needed the phone asap I guess.

    • +1

Just to update this, Asurion charged me $30 not $60.

Also, Westpac have Samsung back in their offers section until September 30.

  • ANyone having issues checking out?

I am getting to the trade in screen, but once i confirm the trade in details, the process just restarts again.

I am also charged the trade in value as well.

I just cannot get past that stage to actually buy the phone!

    • I got the same thing. Have been charged for 2 trade ins now. I spoke with Samsung support and got the following

"Please try going back to the cart and click the +add button on the trade in part. After that please choose you're an existing trade in user that has trade in ID already. After that enter the trade in ID you got from your email"

      • Unfortunately it does not worth too as it says the Trade-in ID is invalid.

I've been charged 3 times already and NONE of the IDs work.

        What a chore!

        • I've had this issue. I figured out it was the card I was using (ME Go). Once I switched to my ING card it worked straight away.

      • It happened to me twice yesterday, then I did it again but just using the trade in ID instead of restarting the process. It failed again once but went fine the second time

    • Yeah the process is very unintuitive. Once you get back to the cart, instead of adding a new trade-in device you select that you're already a member (something along those lines) and add the code that was emailed to you.

I got charged twice, Samsung Chat said that if you don't use it within a month it'll be refunded back to you.

      • Yea the issue is that i can't even use any of the charged trade-in IDs - it all shows up as invalid.

Does not allow me to get past it to checkout.

        Tried everything :(

        • I'd speak to the Samsung chat on WhatsApp, once they're added you can just start typing to them and it'll connect you to someone. I bother them a lot if I have a question or complaint.

          • @TozBargain: I went through same painful process but it managed to work. Had to remove item from cart after i got the Trade ID and add it back into cart and select existing member for trade in. Then it worked. Bought a 1tb for 1779 inc the 65 payback. If i can sell my S22 ultra 512gb for good price the changeover price may be sweeter. Thx for the deal.

    • All time low?

What colour did you go with?

      • Sorry for the slow reply, I got the Titanium Blue. :)

  • when I asked Samsung chat today about what happens if I fail to return phone in time, it said I would be charged with trade-in value + $60 fee.

    • Ask again and ask where this is mentioned in the T&Cs?

Must hold on….surely a better deal comes maybe

  • has the education discount changed to 20%?
    can someone plz confirm
    thabks

  • Just picked one up for $1317.55 with a screen protector. Thanks OP!

    • details?

  • Dramas with the Samsung Shop app, adding here in case anyone comes across the same issue.

    • Couldn't find the phone category at all in the shop, turns out it only shows up on Samsung devices. I had downloaded to an iPhone. This was discovered after a customer support chat.
    • No issue, partner has Samsung, we download app on his phone, click login, it automatically logs him in to his own Samsung account.
    • No issue, log him out, click login again. Again, auto-connect.
    • Well okay, maybe it'll still let it go through, its his first time using the app too so 5% should still apply. Select Education store via link in app.
    • Prompted to sign in with edu account. Excellent, that's all legit, I'm a student. Type in my edu email address.
    • "Could not connect as that email address is associated with [this] Samsung account" (the 5% is the cherry, but the education discount is the whole reason I'm buying the sundae in the first place)
    • Sigh, okay, back on chat
    • "Were you logged out of your Samsung acct via the app on your ios device?" Yes.
    • "Were you logged out of your Samsung acct via any and all browsers" Yes.
    • We ask, will this require partner to sign out of his Samsung account universally on his phone, not just in the Shop app?" (he's not keen on this)
    • Don't get clear answer
    • Charge up ancient S7 edge in order to try with a fresh download of the Samsung Shop app, in case it does require a universal log-out on the device itself.
    • Stalemate

Look, I just want to throw a god-awful amount of money in your direction, surely it can't be this damn hard.

    Any troubleshooting tips?
