I guess they didn't sell many at $650, once people discovered Element14.
My 1970's electronics-kit just phoned, and wants its basics back.

    what a ridiculous price

  • I find it difficult to believe anyone is paying over $650 for this at full RRP and that this really represents value at the discounted price.

  • Or buy THREE Rpis and $100 worth of add-ons on AliExpress, and treat yourself to lunch, for less money

  • have heat OP as this is actually a fairly good deal, at this reduced price (no way worth the $600 odd RRP)

I get annoyed when people blindly comment without comprehending what's in the bundle,
    and what the alternatives are…..

putting in very simplistic terms for all here
    $70 - Raspberry Pi 4B 4GB
$70 - each 'expansion' module with standard connector / breakout ($5 each)
$50 - case with GPIO breakout included (or a GPIO hat type thingy and case)
    $5 - micro SD card
    $5 - Various cables
$10 - small OLED LCD screen HAT for Pi

    You're talking
$230……….Just for a hodgepodge of bits that kind of resembles the functionality here, if you cut / alter cables etc and follow tutorials to get the LCD's speakers working

add in all the tutorials / documentations and 'stuff' - it really isn't that bad a deal to ease someone into a raspberry pi / programming environment

THIS you can throw at someone as a self contained low hassle aid to learning
heck, i'm even considering this for my son, and i'm a stingy DIY everything make my own PCB type of guy

I agree .. i own one as well from their kickstarters ages ago (also own their pi ceed and the laptop format). All in all very happy with the value, quality and service i got from this company. We need to take into account that this comes with battery that essentially make it a portable device. They also sell touch screen monitor and keyboard that would transform this device to a tablet or laptop.
It is a fair value at discounted price.

      • I have completely opposite experience. I bought for my daughter robotics kit. Horrible, i have to help her as documentation is bad. Sensors are limited, you have to buy raspberry hat to extend… i was asking some questions from support and they never came back.

    • You can buy the Freenove Projects Kit for Raspberry Pi for $75 on Amazon and team it with any Raspberry Pi (even the Zero). It has 102 projects.

  • Interesting store, Brainary. I'm browsing their robots.

Sometimes these deals offer at the very least a new store I didn't know about.
