Wi-Fi Extender or Mesh for Nighthawk RAX43

Hi ozbargain,

Would appreciate some advice or recommendations regarding a solution to my home wifi set up.
I currently have my router (Nighthawk RAX43) set up in the garage and I have a dead spot at the end of my house (my room).

Is there an ideal extender or mesh system that I could add on to improve my wifi connection throughout my house?

    Ideally, you would find a way to move the router to close to the centre of the house - not in your garage. Can you run an ethernet cable to allow you to do this?
    Otherwise a mesh system is the way to go.

      Agreed. Low profile / flat ethernet cable will run under doors easily, or plastic raceways.

      Router in garage is just asking for bad wifi.

    Yeah I tried to see if any of the ports in the living areas worked but I think they’re wired up as a phone line instead.

    Ended up ordering a netgear AEX15 mesh wifi extender off TGG commercial for 123+shipping. Appears to have decent reviews so I’ll update this post once it arrives. Figured it’d be cheaper than getting an electrician in to redo/add another Ethernet port.
