      This comments has been mentioned and answered ad nauseum on every rice cooker bargain post where it is not a cheapie.

      Some, not all, of the higher tier models have advantages such as better and longer lasting pot coatings, materials, logic to cook different dishes, custom timers, no water spillage, consistent cooking from edge to centres, no burnt or dry rice, etc.

      Brands such as Zojiroshi and Tiger followed by Korean brands such as Cuckoo are some of the better if not best brands for quality and features and the price reflects it.

      Recommend those interested to check reviews and specifications for brands other than above. Issues such as cooking time and build quality can sometimes be an issue with those found at popular brick and mortar stores.
