Youi Car Insurance Claim: What Is Cover for Contents inside The Car?

I have comprehensive car insurance with Youi and made a claim. It was my fault and repairing has been approved.

There was front damage.

Youi pds for content inside the car says:

"If items inside your car are lost or damaged due to an insured event, we’ll cover them too - up to $150 per item and up to $750 per claim"

Does it means mobile phone/RX glasses damaged during an accident event will be covered?

Also what about spillages and car seats and mats needs cleaning? Should this be covered as well.

Claims department rejected above mentioned items

    They aren't stupid, you having a little crash at 5km/h doesn't cause your phone screen to crack and your glasses arm to fall off.

    Cool feature to have! So cover up to 5 items damaged from your crash!

    Had they been damaged DURING your crash? If so, how?

    Also what about spillages and car seats and mats needs cleaning? Should this be covered as well.

    Did the spillages happen because of the car crash? They're not going to just clean your car because you hadn't.

    Because your claim damage wasn't part of the crash. Thats why.

    You’d have to prove they were damaged during the crash. So in the case of spillages. If you had done a Maccas run and then someone rear ended you causing your coke and sundae to go all over the carpet then you may well get covered.

    If your phone was damaged the first question they’ll ask is was it properly secured. Same with your RX glasses.
