The cnet review gives it a "long battery life." "embedded 2,020mAh battery lasted for a long 8 hours and 43 minutes on the CNET Labs video battery drain test."
http://reviews.cnet.com/smartphones/htc-droid-dna-verizon/45…
The Verge gave it terrible battery life, though the rest of it looks pretty nice (barring the Beats Audio branding)
Review
its interesting to note that the verge test gave it half the time "4 hours and 25 minutes" of cnet's "8 hours and 43 minutes"? Cnet say they use a video battery drain test and the verge claim to have only been browsing websites and high res images do they claim then that browsing on the lte then uses more battery than full hd video?
cnet's review standards are not what they used to be…
I think that's just The Verge because all the other reviews seem surprised by the battery life from the seemingly low capacity of the battery.

Not sure about release for us but will be called "HTC Deluxe" outside of the US

might just order one outright from verizon for $599 and have it shipped thru shipito, unless anyone knows of a cheaper option?
no microSD Card Slot. sux.
no removable battery. sux.
poor battery life w/only 20,20mAh. sux.
16GB flash storage with 1080p screen. WHAT IS THE POINT????
The idea is that instead of using flash storage users are supposed to use cloud services. But, using the cloud services eats up the battery….
Apparently the lack of microSD in Droid DNA was due to Verizon's decision because looking at the original HTC J Butterfly released in Japan, it had an expandable memory.
I wouldn't judge its battery life by the capacity because most reviews have tested it with a better battery life than the Galaxy SIII (2,100 mAh battery) and I'm guessing it's from software optimisation or the better processor?
Also, I just see the removable battery as an added bonus but not a necessity.
Hoping the global version will be released soon in AU :D :D

Looks amazing.
As for the release date, Australia, if and when we get it will probably be a few months later so it's best to import.
Edit: The picture is inaccurate apparently since each of the pictures weren't taken at the same distance. Still, I think it gives a good comparison of the different screens.
ive already ordered the us version which comes unlocked, i did what i said earlier, used a shipito account, ordered directly from verizon which shipped it free to shipito oregon to avoid the california sales tax of $50 then having it redirected for about $40 (incl. insurance) + $8.50 shipito handling charge. All up was <$650.
There are cheaper postage options and ill explore those when it actually arrives at shipito (hopefully) by the 21st.
hey mate have you received the droid dna you ordered from verizon yet?
I probably shouldve updated that post, verizon's fraud department flagged i was using an australian visa and made me call them to confirm it wasnt fraudulant, they later refused to post to shipito addresses or any mail forwarding centre i could find, there may have been somewhere that couldve redirected but i became discouraged. However, there is word of a jan oz release for the dlx anyway with rumour of sd card slot expansion, because 16gb was always going to be a stretch. It was intended that verizon users could use the verizon cloud service and asked htc to limit capacity deliberately. One can only hope that the international version be similar spec to the j butterfly allowing microsd expansion, doubt the internal dvb-t digital tv antenna will be added though :(
Update on the dlx release, possibly in 3 colours?

Update that the dlx wont be released in europe

Otherwise, waiting for the feb/mar release of the samsung s4 with similar spec, 1080p 5" screen 441ppi with confirmed expansion, no wireless charging however.
HTC J butterfly with similar spec to be released in China this month!
http://www.engadget.com/2012/12/07/htc-8x-8s-and-butterfly-r…
"HTC recently announced its international variant of the Droid DNA (for US) and HTC Butterfly J (for Japan). This device will be called the HTC Butterfly while in the past it was rumored to go by the name HTC Deluxe DLX"
"The HTC Butterfly is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor which is clocked at 1.5GHz, it also includes 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage. Additional to this one can expand the size via a microSD card." (note possible microSD rumor)

We just got it tonight, actually. The version we have does contain the microSD, (that is a difference between the X920d, TW version, and the X920e, which is supposed to be the mainland China version). Build quality is higher than I expected from the brief few minutes I had using it. Screen is absolutely gorgeous, although I'm still disappointed that they didn't include LTE. Still might end up getting one myself, but might wait a bit longer to see what the Xperia Z is like.
Can't find any info yet. Though LTE and full HD screen has gotta be a battery killer.
