Extra $7 delivery fee plus service fees for an average burger? No thanks.

Always drive past this chain as they are all around Sydney now and I really don't know why they are always busy. Yes, I know they do halal burgers but taste wise it's just an average burger. I rather go to my local takeaway store and buy a burger with the lot and it will still probably cost me less.

  • Whoops, this is not a valid promotion when I use CCB5.
I have to tick the box now.
It says 1 item per transaction, 1 per customer.
If I make more accounts, will I get the deal on the new ones?

    • +5

I was able to place two separate orders, applied it successfully both times.
On the 3rd time, the coupon disappears. So I go without a burger tonight. Both, the wife and girlfriend get a burger each (instead of a sausage).

      • Lucky you! Mine stopped after the first one haha

  • Is the Rockdale store doing this promo? I can't find them on Doordash.

  • I remember when these guys were just a trailer on the Paramatta rd. Best burgers I ever had, I hope the quality hasn't dropped now that they've gotten so big. Open one up in Qld please..

    No vegan options. What the!?

    • they're an arab owned western syd franchise go figure!

    • i saw vege burger on the menu

      • Vege is different to vegan. Vege still has milk from cows and eggs from chickens. Both of which cause unnecessary suffering to animals which vegans try to avoid.

May be able to ask them to remove the cheese and sauce but that vege pattie kinda looks like trash… I could be wrong…

        • I thought it's just about avoiding meat for health. So it's more than that. Thank you for the insight. I feel ashamed but I don't think I can quit meat anytime soon.
Yeah vege pattie doesn't look nice. I rather make my usual veggie smoothie

          • +1

@Suricate: The promo doesn't work on Vege burger. Tells more about this company πŸ˜…

"To use this promotion, make sure your cart contains the required items." I guess vege burger doesn't count as a burger at all for them 🀣

          • +1

@Suricate: Yes, veganism is nothing to do with health. It is about avoiding as much as possible causing suffering to animals.

I have only been vegan for a few years and I wish that I had known about it earlier. I thought it would be harder to change than it actually is.

Once you see how much suffering your eating choices cause, it's quite easy to change. Well…. easier than it is for the animals at least…

            • @deejaygrub: genuine question - how does eaing eggs (something that isnt living) avoid cruelty to animals?

side question - applies to honey too?

              • +1

@chriskq: Yes although dairy, eggs, wool and honey are animal products and not the animals themselves, these industries to cause a lot of cruelty to animals.

Dairy: Cows usually would live up to 20 years, but they are artificially inseminated to become pregnant in order to produce milk. When the calf is born, it is taken away from the mother which is distressing for the cow. If it is male it is usually killed on the spot or raised for veal. If it is female it suffers the same fate as her mother. After about 6 pregnancies, the cow's milk production starts to drop off and she is sent to the slaughter house for dog food and lower cuts of meat.

Eggs: Most birds lay about an egg a month. Chickens have been artificially bread to produce about an egg per day. This puts incredible stress on their bodies and leaches calcium from their bones. There is a lot of unnecessary cruelty in the egg industry including the way the hens are bread into existence, the close contact with each other doesn't allow for their natural "pecking order" so they end up with many wounds from being pecked. Even in RSPCA approved "free range" facilities, the conditions are pretty poor for these birds that live a very painful and short life.

Honey: Bees make honey for themselves. We snip the wings off the queen bee so she doesn't fly away. We take their honey and feed them a sugar syrup replacement which does not provide all the nutriets they need and they slowly starve.

We can live perfectly well without meat, dairy, eggs, honey etc. It is unnecessary cruelty and exploitation of animals. If you say you love animals and wouldn't want to cause them any unnecessary suffering, then why would you not boycott these industries completely?

I only found out about this stuff in the last few years, but when I did, I went vegan immediately. I didn't even know that cows needed to be pregnant to produce milk, I just thought they walked around wanting to get milked. I don't think it's an accident that we don't know much about this. It's not in the industry's interest for people to become informed.

Good documentaries on netflix or youtube include: Cowspiracy, What the health, Game Changers, Dominion and Earthlings

                • @deejaygrub: This is not about cruelty but it might be another reason to quit meat…
I'm watching a Netflix series, you are what you eat. It says livestock sector produces 20% of greenhouse gases (methane which is worse than CO2) while transportation sector does 14.5%.
Btw, thanks for the doco list

                  • +1

@Suricate: That's true I think cows alone account for nearly more greenhouse gas than all transportation. Crazy…. Although by definition veganism is solely concerned with animal cruelty, there are many health and environmental benefits too.

One they mention is how inefficient it is to grow plants to feed to animals to eat instead of eating them directly. We would free up about 70% of farmed land if we all stopped eating animals.

  • got one tonight, picked up. decent burger for $5 thanks op

  • Tried a few different stores, enter the code: "Unfortunately, this promotion is not currently available."
Did I leave it too long to order? Promo ended?

    • Tried again today and it worked. Maybe they disabled it for Friday night??

  • Found a few more $5 vouchers and have ordered a burger daily for 4 days after gym session

  • It’s still working now and there doesn’t seem to be a limit on how many times you can order.
