Finally it dropped down below $40 for brand new! Bought immediately :) hope this helps someone who has been keeping tabs on it.
Looks like Amazon matching ebgames price drop (or vice versa), and ebgames have the pre owned one for $28.
Unfortunately ebgames ebay store prices are not yet updated to use further discount codes available on ebay.

Edit 09/06: further reduction to $29 now!

Boring game. Strongly recommend going for the Prince of Persia metroidvania over this.

Is it a requirement that all first comments on deals on Ozbargain are bad takes or poorly judged jokes?

I have a similar comment regarding Prince of Persia - played for an hour and threw it away

Enjoyed the ~40 hours to platinum. Sometimes you want a relatively straight forward open world game to unwind after work without having to engage brain for complicated tactics.

I thought it was fine, but for some reason never finished it. A lot better than the last few AC games though but unfortunately it seems they are going more in the direction of them than this.

Thanks OP. I'm normally late for these PS5 deals, but got this one.

  • Honestly, one of the better and probably more underrated AC games that came out recently, better than the RPG ones out there (talking about you Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla).

I finished the game using the Ubisoft+ subscription for a month, but was a great game, worth it for this price.

Unfortunately like someone else also said, Ubisoft isn't gonna use any of this for their next game, so expect the next one to be a huge grind.

I dunno, I've still got my hopes up for Shadows - here's some bullet points for what we know so far:

Sticking to shadows matters, and Naoe can snuff out light sources to create dark areas
      There's a Splinter Cell-like light meter(!)
Naoe can go prone, a first for the series and a rare treat in stealth games outside Metal Gear Solid
Naoe isn't strong in an open fight, similar to Basim in Mirage
There's a grapple hook (the swinging kind, not the zipline kind) that expands parkour
Guard patterns are influenced by the weather and seasons: guards will find shelter from rain, for example

Although I like all the AC games, whether it's hack 'n slash or stealth so I'm looking forward to it either way :)

    Cos I'm a f'n Mirage

  • Tempted to jump on this - been waiting for it to dip in price. What are the chances this ends up on PS+ as part of the monthly games anytime soon?

    • Just get Ubi+ when Shadows launches and play through both in a month

  • +2

Wish I could get it this cheap for PC! Ps5 gamers are eating well.

  • Does this turn into some jumping or swinging game?

  • +2

Wake me up when it's $19

    • You sleep commenting?

    • It's $29 now if it helps you to wake up

      • Still $10 too expensive ;)

  • How’s this compared to AC Valhalla

    • +1

Waiting to find out. From reviews it is much shorter

    • +2

It's very different, Valhalla is more of an open world action / hack and slash game. Mirage I would say is a smaller, more hand-crafted stealth game.

I loved them both and I think they're both great games. I'd highly recommend Mirage, just go into it with a different mindset than you would Valhalla. But it's a gorgeous looking game with a great story and great stealth gameplay.

    • +1

      It's better than Valhalla IMO.

    • +2

Valhalla is massive, long, and set in England and other temperate climates. Mirage is set in Baghdad and its immediate vicinity around the same time (early 9th century) so is much smaller and shorter and takes place in the desert. Both are good but the open world RPG approach of Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla is a huge time-waste of fetch quests and similar mindless tasks, but has the scope to tell a truly epic story. Mirage feels like a mini-game by comparison, but still has plenty going on to make a playthrough worthwhile.

Thanks OP, had the targeted $10 off pickup code to make it $26.

    • Thanks for reminding I had $10 birthday code 🤣

I dipped my toes into this one recently as the last time I tried an Assassins Creed game was Odyssey. I gave Mirage a good 3-4 hours. But just like Odyssey. It was so boring. These games just arent fun and the gameplay loop is such a drag.

  • Thanks OP, AC games are like guilty pleasure games for me. Can't wait to dig in
