Recommendations for Handover Inspectors - Brisbane

Hi everyone,

Our first investment property is almost complete, and our builder reached out last week to organise a pre-handover walk-through. The property is in Narangba (North of Brisbane). I'm looking for recommendations for experienced building/handover inspectors who are thorough, detail-oriented, and take their time to do the inspection properly without rushing. Also, what's the average price I should be looking at for this?

Thanks a lot!

    • Based on what he's showing us on his channel and TikToks, he is the best.

Best if the game is getting likes on youtube?

  • I have used Rob from Total Building Inspections in Brisbane. He was alright, I can vouch for him.

To be honest, I feel that a lot of the inspections should have taken place at earlier stages of the build, like slab, framing and pre-plaster. Once the plaster is up, it's painted and looks nice, it would be probably hard to spot any major defects.

    • We're just about to build, what stages would you recommend that we get an inspector out for? All major stages or just a few?

      • Pre-slab, frame and final is most critical I feel. Can also add in a waterproofing check too.

      • If there is a payment attached for stage completion, before each payment is made is a good general guide.

  • Used Urbanbuild Co. No issues.

  • We used Darbecca. We're in Melbourne but I believe they service Queensland as well.
