I paid $25.49 and it's been good since.

For a few more bucks, you can get a GaN II charger: https://amzn.asia/d/1iHWx7K

    • +8

Different brand though - Anker are probably the most reliable/solid chargers out there.

      • +5

i agree, Anker is amazing, however I've also had very good results from ugreen. I've purchased some of their chargers, but i also love their cables and USB switches.

        • +1

Also agree. Anker has a very good reputation. UGreen seem good too and I don't see too many negative reports about their products.

        • That's cool - I'm just pointing out it's a different brand so it affects the comparison a little.

        • UGreen is great, I find that Anker tries to be Apple (in their pricing) 😏

      • Ugreen isn’t an unknown brand either.

      • +4

Ugreen is in the same league as Anker in my opinion. It also supports super fast charging if you have Samsung. I have both iPhone and Samsung so it’s definitely a better buy.

    • no ugreen cables or charges have failed me yet, GaN not a big deal for me size wise but the A port is purple so higher charge rate ?

    • +1

According to their respective specs, the Anker has the full 33W and up to 20V available on either port, whereas the Ugreen only does so on the USB-C port, and up to 22.5W and 12V on the USB-A port. I'd take the Anker over the Ugreen if that's important to you.

      UGREEN ===> USB-A Output 5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A, 10V/2.25A, 22.5W Max.

    • Iirc those gan chargers have to handshake everytime a new device is plugged in. Don't have that issue with the anker.

  • I bought one of these and it stopped working after a few weeks. Has anyone else had problems?

I'm trying to find a replacement for all my Heymix charges.

    • +6

You should contact Anker. They are pretty good in after support. I had an issue with another charger I bought after using it for almost an year. They did minor troubleshooting steps and just replaced it with a new one.

  • +2

Bought two of these about 6 months ago for this price. No issues so far.

How is this good value for only 2 ports and 33 watts?

    • +3

Depends on your requirements. It's actually pretty good as a phone and tablet charger, and it's very compact.

      • fine for phone and Ipad , both 100% in the morning and my Oppo reduces charge power as battery gets past 20% anyway. Laptop you might want bigger especially if using while charging.

    • +4

      Got a better deal?

    • +1

Yeah depends on your needs. I wanted a small 2 port charger for my power banks, phone and tablet and I didn't need more than 33W. I also chose this Anker make good and safe products. The UGreen one mentioned above is a good deal too if you want to pay a few extra dollars for a GaN charger.

  • No issues so far. Had it for a month

  • +1

Looks like Amazon regularly has this charger for $19.99 and here is the previous deal which I don't think ever really expired. Look at the comments for info on interrupted power.

  • I bought this last time for $20ish and have no complaints, does what it says on the box and does it well. Tempted to get another.

  • Relative bought over the weekend at $29.99. Tried to message chat asking for a $10 refund considering it was 2 days ago. Was told no; but we can just refund it and concurrently buy a new one at $19.99 and when it arrives send it back immediately as the refund which works out to be the same but with extra steps, labor and paper work involved.

At that point just refund us the difference.

    • -1

which works out to be the same but with extra steps

I don't see a "Free Returns" badge, so your relative will have to pay for the return shipping since it's a change of mind return. Not the same thing.

      • Nah live chat processed the refund for us for the full amount of $29.99 as a good faith gesture for their system limitations not allowing them to refund the difference in price for a sale item. It does work out the same, but with extra admin work, an extra paper envelope going to waste and the labor involved for the delivery + refund.

(unrelated ILPT, you can just say item not working as intended for most refunds and they refund the full amount without testing)

  • Would love one of these with US type plugs/prongs to take travelling but not easy to find in AU. Anyone found a cheap way to buy one of these?

    • +1

      Aliexpress

      • Ok thankyou

    • You don't need to buy one specific for US type. Google for keywords "travel GaN Charger". The default one shall be the US type, with adapters for different country.

      • The main problem is that these things are quite bulky and often fall out of old sockets in Balinese hotel rooms!

  • Why is it so hard to find a similar charger with the ports pointing downwards so easier to keep furniture against it

    • I saw Belkin BoostCharge 42W (1x USB-C, 1x USB-A) on clearance in my local Coles yesterday for $15. It has downward facing ports.

      Maybe check your local Coles.

I believe from previous deals / comments that Good Guys Commercial sells the same / similar models for a little bit more ($18-$20 I think) - but I don't have GGC access, so couldn't look them up.

Exactly like this, except it was 42W (must be a newer version):

I've got a few of these things… very handy. Small enough that it's "GaN sized" IMO. I thought they were GaN until recently. Will grab a couple more just to have around the place, and in bags and drawers etc…

  • Ive currently got a Belkin Boost 68w dual port and has served well for a few years but looking for something smaller and lighter but needs 2x ports. Looked at all links above and did some searching and found this Novoo dual port unit thats dual port and good weight, currently on sale $26.63.

EDIT: Also found this but sadly doesn't have AU plug else looks to be the perfect balance

  • If you have a Pixel 8, I don't recommend this charger as it needs the PPS protocol which is on newer Anker chargers, but not this one. I didn't have this issue with my Pixel 6A though

I have noticed the charging takes longer with the Anker 543 charger (different model than in this deal) and a Heymix Powerboard (USB-C Output) and found that the charging stops and starts continually likely for the reason for this long charge time. Using an older charger which has the PPS protocol charged the phone much faster

  • All things one place review https://youtube.com/shorts/urX6yCBmJhE

  • So the ankwr is not gan right? Is gan better,
    More effective or what?

    • Probably could have typed that into google and got a response already :D

      • +1

Google is notoriously noncommittal.. i got one anyway, as GAN sounds cool.. 😎
