  • ~ 450 g per shoe for anyone wondering

    • Meh, My back pack for hiking is usually around 13-15kgs.

      Light weight baby !

    • Mine are heavier. Good for ankle support.

  • This or splurge on Scarpa Terra GTX when on sale?

  • Edit: I'm blind. Spend more than 150 get 20% off

I own a pair of these from the last amazon sale.
While they are comfortable, I don't see myself buying them again.
I have done a total of 8 days of the Grampians Peak trail, and the Great Ocean Walk trek in these. The tread on the heel is quite heavily worn.
My previous pair was a pair from Kathmandu. While i didn't do the same level of hiking, they lasted 8 years of travel.
I will admit that the Grampians is much more rocky with a good number of rock scrambles, however I honestly thought I'd get more wear out of them. Rest of the shoe is fine.
edit: i also don't drag my feet

    • What was the pair from Kathmandu. I have used Oboz a few times. They have a great "instant" fit. A bit slippy on the sole but I can trail run in them on an as needs basis which I love even though they are a mid.

    • Funny thing is getting home with these boots made me realise they’re the same ones we got for our son to use for some multi day hikes.

His tread after 200km (combined) hikes is not great but not terrible, and comparable to my 10yo Kathmandu boots.

  • I bought a pair if these at the last Anaconda sale. They fit my feet perfectly, so Ive already purchased a second pair. These are not the sort of boot that I would use for serious bush walking but are perfect for the sort of day walks that I do. They are comfortable and not heavy. Waterproof (so far).

    • Why wouldn't you use them for serious bush walks?

      • They are light and have a softer sole. I wouldn't want to use them for long arduous multi-day walks where stronger/stiffer soles would be needed. But for me these are excellent.

        • Thanks for the explanation :)

  • Right now I'm pooping at Denali national park wearing these shoes. Bought them on last deal. They are insanely comfortable. Really good on snow and ice. It is legit waterproof. Real comfortable.

    • Proof?

    • Get out into the great outdoors they say. Check ozbargain while you're there.

      • If I can't check ozbargains daily I don't want to live.

Send me your deets and I'll take a photo of my next poop here

  • You shouldn't poo n text at the same time.

I just came back from the local Anaconda store with a pair of these. Feels pretty comfortable and they fit well. I have really wide feet so I normally have to go a size or 2 up (even in wide varieties).

The lady at the store wouldn't price beat, only price match as the store they are matching to is the actual brand. I don't normally shop at Anaconda so I took it at face value and accepted the price match.

I've just checked the website and couldn't find any reference to what she told me….now I'm deciding whether to go back and get them to honor their policy/return the goods, or hand in my Ozbargain licence.

    • Ah no that’s a pain. I asked for a pm and got a pb without asking. This is in Campbelltown.

Not price matching the actual brand seems odd. Not like it’s a grey importer

  • In my experience the Columbia warerproofing membrane (Omni-Tech) is next to useless. I have two pairs of Crestwood low-cut hiking shoes using the same waterproof membrane which get wetter inside than my mesh runners. I use them exclusively for walking the dog and my socks are soaked after walking across wet (cut) grass at dog park.

  • Not pooping but also at Denali National Park.
Currently wearing my Marmot boots also a Ozbargain special !
