Used to be a proud owner of OnePlus 5T, back then OnePlus was one of the best in terms of the price you pay for the hardware you get.

Pretty sad to see they have changed course.

    • -1

100% agreed! my OP5T was one of the best phones! Moved to an Oppo X5 now, same same really. Same parent company. The lack of local support just sucks, the band thing is too hard now…

      • +1

True that it's the same parent company.

But I guess I also forgot to mention that I like to tinker with my phone and OnePlus also had one of the best community of custom ROM.

        • 100% agreed. My OP5T lasted for almost 5 years. Best value for money back then.

      • +1

I still think the oxygen os is better than colour os. I'm using find x5 pro as well.

        • I can't see myself upgrading anytime soon from my X5 Pro.

Great camera, great battery and charging options.
No real glitches, though can tell when 5G switching is angry because battery life dives.

    • Feel the same way seeing this post after owning a one plus 3t in the past.

    • Me too, still got the 5t.

Went to the 9 and it has been excellent too.

Shame they are not as cheap as they once were.

    • That 5t was such a beast

    • As a Oneplus One owner, I agree.

    • Their tag line then was `
Flagship Killer'. Now they are the flagship waiting to be killed.

      • S24 Ultra is the undisputed (overall best) king of Android

  • Does this have the right network bands to work properly over here?

    • +2

it should. I have the Chinese version which was seemed to be the band cut version (if they do this). and works perfectly fine here with boost (telstra)

    • I have the OP9 pro and it works good. Not sure if this one is different though

With Pixel 8 Pro deals, it's hard to justify the OnePlus.

    • -1

      not even wrong….

are you comparing tensor G3 to snapdragon 8 GEN 3??

      • +2

For day to day stuff, the Tensor G3 is pretty decent. It's only when you need to play games or edit videos is when the 8 Gen 3 comes on top.

        • For day to day stuff, my Totoya is pretty decent. It's only when I go track days or winding mountain roads is when Porche comes on top.

          • +1

@HD9990: You can't compare a $1000 phone to a 200k or even more car. But I see what you mean and if that is the case, just get a Porsche and use it as a daily if you are that rich.

            • @itsmoe: Get a Oneplus 12 and that's the equivalent of mobile phone Porcshe aye?
Sounds like a good deal to me

      • +3

As far as most people's use go for a flagship phone, unless you are gaming, which most of us aren't, the performance difference is somewhat irrelevant. I feel like I am a fairly heavy user and still find my Pixel 6a with a meagre Tensor G1 to be more than enough performance.

  • +1

I guess Samsung S24 Ultra is a better option in/around this price range if purchased availing the right deals.

  • Proud owner of an OnePlus 7T Pro, probably peak OnePlus at the time
sad to see OnePlus changed course with its Oxygen OS merge with Color OS
it's just not the same anymore, the Pixel series slotting into this segment are very appealing

    • Oxygen OS merge with Color OS
      Does this make it worse?
I haven’t been keeping up with the android world but keen on Oneplus 12

  • I am using OnePlus ace 2 pro right now. Bought at around $500 about half year ago.
    Happy with it.

  • The issue with the older OnePlus phones (8T) was that they would constantly unlock while you were on a call so your face pressed buttons like mute and whatnot making the phone infuritating to use as phone. Multiple people I know who had them had the same issue and ditched them because of it. Does anyone know if they have fixed this issue in the newer models?

  • Proud owner of the OnePlus 7 Pro. I've used the phone for over 4 years and haven't had a single problem. Amazing specs and quality.

@OP. Any deals for the OnePlus Open?

    • +1

I have added in the $50 off code

      • $50 off doesn't convince me. Anyway, thanks for the effort

  • Would've loved to have seen a good deal on the OnePlus 12 a couple of months ago.

I loved my OnePlus 7T and used for 4-5 years. Just upgraded to Pixel 8 and it's an amazing handset, but the OnePlus experience was fantastic.

Can't go wrong with these phones tbh.

    Hi Mymobile,
I'm looking for new phone. Have a few questions:
    - would Australia banking apps etc all work on this phone?
    - what is included in this deal? E g. Pre installed screen protector, phone case, AU 100W charger?

    can you please confirm please?
    Many thanks

    • If it is a global version all apps can work well on this phone. The phone should come with a factory screen protector and a case (all my Oppo and Oneplus had these). Not sure about the AU charger.

    • Hello Berry580
In the Box: Phone with Pre-applied Screen Protector, USB-Type C Cable (Charger and Phone Case not included)
OnePlus 12 5G Global Version, Oxygen OS 14, Google Play Certified
Dual Physical SIM slots, and ESIM Support (when ESIM is in use, only 1 physical SIM can be used)
100% Compatible with Australian mobile networks, VoLTE enabled

      • Hi, may I know if android auto supported? As chinese version doesnt work.

        • yes it is the gobal version Google Play Certified

          • @MyMobile: Thanks. Do you have stock in store or delivery only?

            • @tonyLT: only delivery - as must as I what to stock every phone, I just cannot

      • It's a shame the charger isn't included as it's one of the big perks of the phone.

  • Hi Shane :-)

    • hello back

  • I'm still using my OnePlus 6T since 2018, best phone I've ever had. Does everything I need. But recently it's got a bit glitchy, the great battery life isn't what it used to be, volume button isn't working properly, so it's time for a new phone.
    Any suggestions?
OP12 is double my budget :-(
Poco X6 pro looks nice on the current sub500 from AliExpress.
Also considering waiting for an eofy deal on a pixel 7/8 or Samsung A54.
Anything else I might look at?

Modest user but I'd like an upgrade on the OP6 phone which has never been great.

  • Better to buy direct as this is just drop shipped anyway? Aliexpress will have it for same price with charger and case etc.

  • I pulled the trigger over the weekend on this deal. Just a waiting game now.

    • I got mine in 5 business days. Everything as described. Thanks Shane.
