There are multiple flavours available at the same price.
Works out at $2 per packet or $1.80 for S&S.
Note: Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.

Thanks, I've updated the post.
You're welcome.

That is the same price at Woolies.
Was $2 at Coles the other day too.
Why is the packet not called Uncle Ben’s and where is the picture of Ben?
TIL they rebranded and dropped the Uncle in 2020, which TBF seems to be a reasonable de-branding given all the uh…racial stuff surrounding imagery and name.
Well Ben is obviously black and not Mexican
‘Uncle’ and ‘Aunt’ were titles used in a condescending manner towards black slaves.
‘Uncle’ and ‘Aunt’ were titles used in a condescending manner
How is it condescending?
Also, they haven't changed the name, so I don't buy that reasoning.
Also, in Australia, the aborigines use ‘Uncle’ and ‘Aunt’ titles to show respect…
@jv: For further reading I suggest you refer to your search engine of choice.
Uncle Bens wasn't an Australian brand.
Personally I'd be more concerned about the microplastics in the product rather than what a $50 billion company names their rice.

Read the link…
Country of origin : Australia
@jv: It’s an American brand
@Fish and Grits: Country of origin : Australia
@jv: Ben's Original, formerly called Uncle Ben's, is an American brand of parboiled rice and other related food products that were introduced by Converted Rice Inc., which is now owned by Mars, Inc. Uncle Ben's rice was first marketed in 1943 and was the top-selling rice in the United States until the 1990s.
I think the main issue was with the word "uncle" and not with the photo. Don't know why the photo couldn't have been retained.
BLM changing food and nothing else
no wonder taste is so crap
Why not just make him white so he can still be an uncle named Ben? I guess people would never stop talking about how they turned Uncle Ben white if they did. Actually just renaming it Ben's is pretty smart.
Tony couldn't handle it

Hahahaha
Maybe there was a death in the family? i.e. He is no longer an uncle.
You know why
I'm not sure Uncle Roger would approve.
Purchased, thank you. But did anyone try the Coles Brand Fried Rice packets? They were significantly better than any Uncle Ben's Rice packets imo and wouldn't taste out of place in a Chinese restaurant. Extremely nice!
They're no longer at my local Coles sadly. Appears to be online though.
That's interesting, do you mean these ones here?
https://www.coles.com.au/product/coles-egg-fried-rice-250g-3…
Yes that's the one. I googled it and it came up as in stock on the Google page. Looks like they really did get rid of them.
They started off at $2 and would sell out as soon as they got to the shelf. Then they put them up to $2.75 and there would still be 2-3 on the shelf most days.
If any insiders at Coles know if they're coming back please call me.
Okay, thankyou for confirming. They sound good, I will check my local Coles 👍
Microwave rice is certainly a quick and easy way to serve a side dish, but if you're at all concerned about the consumption of micro plastics and their potential health impacts, precooked rice is definitely something to avoid.

As an aside, recently published research shows that micro plastics find their way into many parts of our bodies, including men's testicles. There are some serious concerns about the possible adverse impact this may have on male fertility.

What I'm hearing is how to save money on a Vasectomy.
The real bargains are always in the comments.
can't we get a 5kg bag of basmati rice for about $15 from an asian store? Better VFM I feel.
Yes, plain vs flavoured, but it's not hard to do.
I have a 40L microwave. Would a 5kg bag fit? What method have you used for a 5kg bag of rice in the microwave?
You're ignoring the main reason that people buy these, convinience.
Of course you can buy rice in bulk for cheaper, but you have to cook it yourself and it's not as easy to transport.
That's where the $10 kmart cooker comes into play!
Add a bay leaf, stock or cardamom pod, or anything really, voila, flavoured rice.
Did you seriously just ignore the convenience aspect again?
@magic8ballgag: 😅
Money in my pocket vs convenience. I get it. I'd rather have money than pay for convenience (unless it's really inconvenient; e.g., $3 shipping OR drive to a store that's 40 mins away). Not to mention Storm's post. However, some people would rather pay for convenience. Make Uncle Roger unhappy and Uncle Ben very happy! 😋
Uncle Roger says fuuyah!
With great microwave power, comes great microwave rice
- Uncle Ben's last words probably.
Do you guys add water to these? It doesn't say so but without it these are dry.
What in the Jamie Oliver ?!?! You want to make Asian ancestors cry ?
