it's better to buy the hungry jack 5.90 royal chicken meal with 3 nugget. either one isn't gonna taste good but for money to filling stomach probably better deal

  • cheap maccas …to reduce food bill are people making sure their kids use the free fruit offer at woolies and cole’s , seems crazy to buy fruit for kids when they can get it for free.

    • Best thing about it is when the kids don't want to eat the free fruit, you eat the rest.

      • -1

Why bother with that… Just identify as a kid and eat it all …

If a man can identify as a woman these days… Then identifying as a kid should he no problem

Yea I was neutral about the fruit for kids basket until I saw an article about woolies asking pensioners to stop eating the free fruit for kids. Then I made it my mission to eat a banana/apple every visit for months.

Do they stack. Is this counter as a big Mac purchase

      • Yes. Offer is for anything from the Big Mac range.
Done it twice before (on 2 accounts) with these weekly deals that include Big Mac.

    • Received Bonus 2000 pt tonight. Total of 2790!
Took longer than 30min to appear.

  • Can you still but a meal anywhere else in Australia with the similar nutrition for $8?

      Nutrition? This is maccas.

      • nutrition portion

        Basically, same level of "fullness"..

        • 😂 in that case, a loaf of white bread from Aldi. Fills you up and zero air fryer involvement/washing up. I had a housemate who did that during Covid, hurts my stomach to just think about it. If you don’t mind air drying for a bit, frozen chips/wedges are good too.

KFC has the $15, 9 piece chicken deal running, works out to be at least 2 meals for most people.

With a limited perspective, perhaps not.
You can make your own meals for cheaper though, with proper nutrients that won't leave you hungry and snacking 1hr after eating.

      • Of course cooking your own meal generally comes up cheaper. It also depends on what kind of ingredients you buy, but that besides the point.

My question is about comparing McDonalds with other restaurants, fast food or otherwise.
Those deals are not always available, but when they are, are they actually cheap (compared to competitors, by value)? It seems that they are.
Even supermarket ready meals can cost you more than $8.
Long gone are the days when you can get $5 chicken curry..

        • I actually find curry to be the most overpriced meal on sale. It's the easiest thing to cook in a large batch, you have people paying $20 for a serve at restaurants. Just crazy. Said serve would cost the restaurant $2-$3.

Ive noticed with these deals you score bonus points on the full value of the meal which is supposedly like 20 bucks…lol

  • Time to get FAT (TER)

  • These Maccas deals are simultaneously the best and worst decisions I ever make.

    • Eat first, die(t) later 😝

One thing is for sure, the reason all these fast food deals are out atm is they need to stay relevant to their target audience, broke people. When said people can afford to pay more for Maccas / KFC / Dominos and the like, you'll all be complaining about the deals but still buying the food.

    • the reason all these fast food deals are out atm is they need to stay relevant to their target audience, broke people

Not just "broke people" are cutting back on eating out! Widely reported & discussed.
Not just "broke people" eat at Maccas!

So it's been a hard time for those businesses.
To stay competitive, most fast food places have cheaper offers.

But when has Maccas etc not offered cheaper deals?? (Remember 50c Big Macs?)

Haven't paid full price at Maccas, since they sold 30c soft serves! That was a long time ago.

you'll all be complaining about the deals but still buying the food

Just don't buy if not discounted😉

  • the McChicken I got yesterday had the thinnest pattie I've ever seen, it was half a centimetre high. made a point of checking it as it was tough every single bite. they're all supposed to be standardised, and fried too (ie, not pressed onto a grill). so that's got me thinking they may have significantly reduced the height of the chicken pattie. dry as too.

    • Its just a slightly oversized chicken nugget. IDK why peoeple buy McChickens lol
