Budget $250 Mobile Phone

Looking for a phone for a 12 year old. Does not need to be anything fancy, he will likely just use it for WhatsApp and phone calls.

Any suggestions?

Wait around for another Moto G54 deal for <$200, or if you can stretch your budget to the $300 mark, the G84 is pretty good bang for buck.

  yup agree, I have a late model iPhone from work, but for my personal mobile I always get the $200+ Motos

A sub $100 phone from supermarket, BigW, KMart, etc would be fine for calls and WhatsApp, basically any smartphone. $250 will get a bargain-priced mid-range phone from Motorola, Oppo, TCL, etc, at which I'd be looking for handsets with 8gb RAM.
