Hi all,
Since there is the SCA and Repco sales going on now I’m looking at picking up a trolley jack for the garage for the odd job (every few months).
Budget is $250
Cars are a lowered hatch and sedan (below 2000 kg). Just need good clearance ideally, smooth operation and quality. I have their cheapo $60 jack and it sucks! Like it struggles to get to maximum height, sits just too high to clear and lowers way too abrupt, understandable given the price.
SCA has the ToolPro 3000kg jack and a newer 2000kg which is aluminium and steel (lighter). Any feedback on comparing these two?
Ive also noticed that these jack models are commonly used across the brands as the body and specs look identical. E.g Repco sells the similar hybrid ‘aluminium steel’ jack with their own brand, same with Sydney Tools.
I've used this 3000kg unit multiple times a week for the last 2 years. Has never given me any grief. It's pretty heavy but manoeuvres around easily on a concrete slab. Fits under a lowered car (side only, can't reach diff or k frame easily) and lifts an SUV to good heights.
