It's had favorable reviews too. Over a hundred thousand people in the U.S put a deposit on it on launch day.

Is there anything China doesn't copy costing 1/3 of the price???

      A: Nope!

Kmart has a 20L fish tank for $39

    • +9

Looks like a dumb tank though.

      • +2

Looks like the fish don't care though.

Find one at a op shop or gumtree or fb…

    • A smart fish take at an opshop?

Could grab a dictionary while you’re there 😊

if we go to war with china is there a risk they will kill my fish remotely?

    • +27

Why would they do that? A smart enemy will remotely train the fish to kill you instead.

FYI: Filters cost around $70 ($50 current sale price) every 6 months it appears…

    • +1

Are the filters sealed units? If not, just change the pads yourself.

    • i think you can wash them or DIY no need to buy its filter afterall

    • +3

Using provided media is always a scam, fill it with various grades of sponge and you're set for months to years

  • +3

While it's cool that aquariums and technology are mixing, this is a really dumb product - $189 for a 20 litre tank. Thats barely big enough for a single fish.

    • -2

So you've never heard of a gold fish bowl?

      • More like dumb bad bowl

      • +2

Turns out Goldfish need massive tanks

    • Eexactly, too small.

  • +2

Looking in the linked pdf product information, the "Automatic eye eater" has me somewhat worried about this fish tanks plans…..

    • I saw the too and started scratching my head

    • Dodgy google lens translation of Automatic Feeder

i have the old gen one with the plants on top - so water get sucked up, water the plants root - plants cleans the water then clean water go back down.
not smart but holding up well for like 5 years, no breaks no issues. no need water change just top ups

    • water hardness?

    • +1

Plants don't clean the water, they just remove some nutrients from it

  • Will I ever have to clean this or can it live forever with just filtering.

    • All tanks require maintenance, especially smaller ones like this

  • +2

Only fish i like are fish fingers.

    • I believe you mean, fish sticks.

  • Great idea but too small to do much of anything with.

  • keen to have this one. where can i buy fish and some live plant in western sydney?

  • -1

    6-Month Lifespan

    On what exactly though?

EDIT: although not mentioned in the line - this may be filters… which is likely pads. Overall that's pretty good as far as these things go.

  • The price in China is much cheaper than that even international shipping is included
