SHERRY CASK OFFER
— Exclusive to our Mailing List —

Dear Rosey

Last year, we updated and refreshed our core range 'Cask Strength' (60% ABV) labels from green to cream to make them easier to identify alongside our 'Distiller Strength' (43% ABV) whiskies.

To avoid any confusion in venues around Australia, we would like to move the remaining stock of our 'old labelled' bottlings on.

We have just over 100 bottles of our Sherry Cask Matured, Cask Strength 60% ABV left, and are excited to offer these to you at a special price of $199 (normally $279), to enjoy at home.

Please note: this offer is exclusive to our mailing list customers for purchase via our website overeemwhisky.com.

Thank you so much for your ongoing support!

Warm regards, Jane Overeem

Overeem is one of the OG Tassie distilleries, and is family owned. These are normally $279 and rarely go on sale. One of the best Australian cask strength sherry bombs imo.

You have to be sign up to their mailing list to get this price. There's a link to sign up at the top of the homepage.

The Sherry cask is great, but wish they had some old label stock of the Port cask laying about!

    • I also prefer the Port CS, but still have plenty left from Tasmania for $130 after I met Casey Overeem more than a decade ago

Would take port cask any day over this sherry cask . These prices are ridiculous and should be around $150 mark

Build a time machine. I got several bottles of Port CS for $130 around 2012. $200 for a 60% ABV Tasmanian malt is a good deal in today's market.

There are plenty of other whiskies you can buy for $150, just not an Overeem CS.

Aussie whiskies are overpriced . The distilleries who have established there name from so many years are charging less than what Aussie distilleries are charging .

    • Aussie whiskies are overpriced

You can blame Sullivans Cove for that.

Then don't buy Aussie whisky. Again, plenty of other whiskies for $150

      • Plenty of better whiskies too

        • Can you give me some recommendations? I'm always interested in trying new things

what's the bargain? this looks like an advertisement that anyone could access.

Peter Bignell @ Belgrove in Kempton makes some superb rye whiskey if you appreciate that sort of thing

    • The bargain is $80 off. You seem familiar with Tassie whisky so it should be ovbious.

I met Peter Bignell when he only had Belgrove and only did ryes (I have a lot of Belgroves), and I visited Redlands when they did't even have any stills. Then Peter took over (I think he's also involved with Remnant), and started making malts. I haven't really kept up but last time I checked, a CS Redlands Old Kempton in 500ml was about $250-300. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

      • fair enough, i just feel we have moved into selling exclusivity and that doesnt sit well with me at all

I don't think Overeem are doing that. They have kept the same core range, and only added a bourbon cask. Their prices have increased in-line with other Tamanian whiskies, and they are a tiny family-owned operation, not like Lark and Sullivans that have been sold to holding companies or conglomerates (I'm not 100% sure, but I do know they have been sold). Try buying a bottle of Sullivans Cove. All the Larks have turned to shit. Nant shat the bed with their "investment barrels" and sold their barrels to Peter Bignell + other investors (Tim Duckett?) I think. Hellyers has always beed trash. Belgrove is still Belgrove. Those are the OG Tassie distilleries.

If you want non-exclusivity, I recommend The Remant Golden Fleece (Nant juice) which is $99, 500ml bottled @ 45% ABV, and available everywhere.
