Are these better than NB 1080V13? looking for threadmill running with cushion for a fat old man 😔

    • +4

These are racing supershoes and while cushioned would be a pretty terrible idea without a decent amount of running experience and form

Best thing you can do is go and get fitted, understand what type of shoes you need then buy online

        Agree here.
The NB is perfect for what you use it for.

Too many people use these supershoes as daily trainers, which isn't their purpose

    • I've been looking for a good deal on the NB 1080V13. Haven't found anything below $200 yet 😪

      • It may end up being just under $200 with Shopback

I bought the ASICS Gel Nimbus 25’s a few months ago and have found the cushioning awesome. Mainly use them for walks or slow runs. Would definitely recommend giving them a try

    • 2 different shoes. 1080 is a great trainer to log in lots of miles or use for recovery runs. also look into hoka for great cushioning.

vapor fly is a race shoe, you don't want to use this a lot, only for race day.

do not buy these unless you know what they are.

    • Wouldn't this agasint the ozbargain code?

Gonna have to hit a pb in the next few months before I can justify one of these, I hear it's pretty cool though when you use them on raceday

    • yes, it feels like your are cheating, lol. you really feel it later in the run where you think you are dying and slowing down, then you can feel the shoes give you that extra pop u need to keep trucking.

  • Just be aware these have a really roomy toebox for a racing shoe, I enjoy running in them but if you're not doing quick paces or racing then there's much better (and cheaper) options. Even for this price I think there's better options.

Bought one. My AF(OG) is on 400km and VF2 is on about 250km and was waiting for the AF3 to drop but at this price I couldn't resist..

I'll be running this pair in the Gold Coast marathon in July and VF2 will be relegated for Parkruns.

Those who don't want a race shoe, I would suggest looking at Superblast (not cheap) or if you can find a cheap Novablast 3.

  • Thoughts on these vs asics metaspeed?

    • +1

it's just going to be personal pref. for me the vf3 are perfect but the meta's were too narrow for me. For others they might think the opposite.

  • rebel didn't like my westpac credit card. I ended purchasing using paypal
