Hows the chicken mcmuffin compare to the bacon and egg one?
Tried it recently and it was "okay". I suppose it's suitable for those who can't eat bacon? That being said, I still prefer the classics of sausage and egg or bacon and egg.
On another note, I know I'm living in the past but in my head the price of the Sausage and Egg McMuffin meal with a hash brown and the basic (non Mccafe) coffee was around $5 :( Times have changed!
If you'd been to Japan recently, their egg and bacon meals were about under $5 Australian. Even mcGriddles which they should at least try on the Australian menu were only just over $5.
The $7.95 meal deals and now this shows people are cutting back, so there having to discount to get people in the doors.

@montorola: Think they should look at bringing back simple filtered coffee as a cost saving. It may not be as fancy as a espresso based drink but it does caffeinate.
Maybe a combo with the filtered coffee for around the same price but with hash brown.
@Pcoder: Yeah that'd be awesome, I don't really care about gourmet coffee just as long as I get my caffeine hit
@Pcoder: Oh god those were the days! Getting that cup of filtered coffee around 3pm (which had probably been sitting on the hot plate for 5+ hours) for $1.20 or something. Stuff was like rocket fuel. So good.

Pretty common targeted deal, got it on one of my accounts again last week.
The deals have got much worse though, used to often get 2 mcmuffins for $4 for example.
I've had McMuffin + hash brown for $3 multiple times, or coffee + 2 hash browns for $1.99. Doesn't mean I rely on it to be that every/any day.

they had the BLT muffin at my local for $3 for a grand total of about 2 weeks before it disappeared from the menu, that was included in this deal previously but they suddenly got rid of that muffin, not sure what happened there?

this deal has been around for ages for $4, now the up the price by almost $2 and say HEY NEW DEAL lol
only difference is you can choose the chicken instead of the usual bacon/sausage
This was a very targeted thing on the app. I got it once or twice on the app, but that was like a year ago. At least this one you dont have to rely on the app generating the deal for you.
Edit: I know of people who get that deal all the time, but they live in Melbourne. I never get it here in Canberra, so it seems like a location specific deal.
My recent deals have been 10% off and 2 cheeseburger medium combo $7. Haven't been getting breakfast promotions for a while.

I’ve noticed fast food, restaurant and take out food have increased their prices at the same rate and percentage increase as the supermarkets

Sometimes we do this to lower the sales of low-profit items because it's too busy, understaffed or running low on supplies. Come back another day.
