Citi Payall Cancelled

Hi, I had an unauthorised charge on my card and Citi have cancelled my existing card to order a new one. I had PayAll set up on that card and now I got an email saying my PayAll has been cancelled.

Can I call them and ask them to transfer it to my new card for free? I had PayAll set up to 2027 or something.

  • What is an "uncategorised charge"?

    • I think unauthorized transaction

  • Why would your PayAll arrangements change just because your card was cancelled & re-issued?
Should just remain as before. After all PayAll is like a direct debit unconnected to your card number.
Check your App, if you notice any changes, call Citibank & ask them to reinstate it.

    • I got this email last night. I can’t access the app until I get a new card.

The following Citi PayAll regular set up has been cancelled as per your request. To use Citi PayAll in the future, please set-up a new Citi PayAll arrangement on your Citi Mobile® App.

The email also has my last 4 digits on the existing credit card.

    • Because that is what Citibank did to me when I had the same unauthorised payment. Support refused to reinstate my payall

  • +2

My card was cancelled and they provided me a new one and scheduled PayAll still works.

    • Same. Payall still works even though the old card is cancelled and the new card is still unactivated

  • Unlucky, you must have gotten a rep that went out of their way to manually cancel the payall

  • Happened to be just after Nov last year, card cancelled due to fraud and free payall gone…

Here is my comment from a different thread a while ago

Had the same issue recently, has to call a couple of times to get it fix.

The first person said "It's all good, it'll automatically transfer after the fraud team does their investigation" - It didn't

Called back after a month to check up on things. The second person I spoke to didn't seem to know about payall and after a while gave me the standard "sorry but after October, there is a 2% fee for setting up payall". I argued that I wasn't setting up a payall installment but rather reinstating two previous ones. Call was escalated to a manager and a complaint was filed.

After a couple days I got the following

"In an effort to assist, we asked for a review and approval to cover the upcoming Payall fees that will be
charged on the account once you re-enrol the transactions above.

We are glad to inform you that we received an approval to cover the Payall fees on your account once you
make the enrolment. A case manager tried to call you on 12 February 2024; however, our attempts were
    unsuccessful."

I had two recurring payments and combined them into one.

I called once again to get a confirmation that was indeed okay and asked how the fee was going to be waived as it was still showing the 2% fee. The response I got was, "after the payment, reply to the email and they'll sort it out"

The payment isn't until the 19th March, so I'm not sure exactly how it's going to go…. I'll update after that

Now I have a new payall scheduled with a fee, however, I email their complaint email with my previous case ID and then the fee gets waived. A bit of admin but I suppose it's better then no payall

  • Q Can I call them
A Yes you can call citi anytime

  • If just because the card expired, i had that, citi issue new card and payall stays

    • My app shows the PayAll as cancelled and no longer scheduled like before

      • Because card is expired? Wow they hate you that much. Dont worry just move on forget citi

  • Citi has always removed my PayAll when I've had to replace my card (replaced before expiry at my request due to lost or unknown charges), since they moved to being under NAB, I got rid of that card, but I'm sure they are still using the same backend system, so it wouldn't surprise me.

  • Is it worthwhile not using the card, so as to not risk the removal of payall being removed in the future.

Only concern is lack of activity (beyond pay all) may trigger an accoutn closure?

    • Not using the card won't stop it being used for fraudulent transactions. I have had it happen before.

      • Yeah i heard about cc number generator
