By my thinking, a whopping 2.5% bonus! Shrinkflation everywhere.

    • +8

So after 1.5% AMEX fee, it’s 1% bonus

  • +1

What's the fees and hidden charges (if any) to use this service and how much are we really benefiting in the end?

    • +2

The fee is 1.29%. If using the points earned (because you’ll earn points on top of the $250 bonus) for airline conversion you should be in front (dependent on how many points per $1 your Amex card earns).

      • $129 in fees for $10k
So really you are getting $120 cashback

        • +1

$120 + credit card points yes.

          • +3

@WoodYouLikeSomeCash: Rather wait for the Coles prepaid card deals to throw $10k at which is roughly $800 profit plus Amex/flybuys points

            • @easternculture: Could you please explain this like a 12 year old (my mental ability) 😆

              • +2

@ballistykx: Coles regularly have 10% off $100 and $250 vanilla visa and Coles mastercard.
Best value is $250 for approx $232 after card fee
Buy $10k worth and save $800
Its usually limited to 5 per day per flybuys but you can register a new flybuys account and use it.
Just be mindful it's extremely popular so the freezer is your friend to hide some a few days before the promo starts

          • @WoodYouLikeSomeCash: no matter using Sniip or not, you will get the same credit card points anyway

            • @Keelix: Points still play an important role as most bills charge a higher fee for Amex (and you’d be missing out on the $250 rebate). Furthermore, most bills won’t accept Amex so Sniip allows you to sidestep this and earn points (whereas previously you’d be doing BPAY and earn 0 points).

  • I have one for 1250 points and another for 10% back (max $50)

    • I have the 10% back offer as well - Qantas Discovery

  • that's alot of dough for $250 profit (minus sniip fees)

    Spend $10,000 or More

You can do multiple transactions as long as the spend criteria is met by June. Sniip also allows you to pay bills using BSB and account number so you can pay rent as well as rates, water bill, electricity bill, etc.

Weekly grocery shop should cover it…

    • +2

monthly gf shopping allowance should cover it….

  • can I pay my Amex bill using Sniip? like via bpay LMAO

    • Nah, all credit card provider biller codes are blocked.

  • +2

I've got tax to pay so this would have been perfect but wasn't targeted. Sigh, time to cut up the Amex cards.

  • what kind of bill would be over $10,000?

    • It doesn’t have to be a single bill. You can split it among multiple bills to meet the criteria.

      • even so, $10,000 worth of bills in less than 2 months is a hard reach for most people i think.

      ATO

iTunes is recommended for payment of government debt

    • massages!

    • Tax, rates etc.

  • None of the recent targetted offers appear on my velocity platinum card, incl this sniip one. :(
Must have had this card for too long that I have used the card with all these services.

  • I pay my rental via Sniip and that's $5.16 for fees. $5.16x 26/52 = $134.16 But that's 1 year after paying my rental right after my 1 year membership of $395 for AMEX expires

I also remembered paying body corp the last 2 quarters - an added $16.00 for any CC or BPAY charges. What a ripoff!

Last time I tried to use SNIIP with Amex, it somehow registered as the end provider instead and I had to argue for my rebate. Amex finally relented after several phone calls and gave it to me as a goodwill gesture.
Check your payments go through to the statement as SNIIP and not something else.
