• eSIM (embedded SIM) technology eliminates the need for physical SIM cards.
• This means you don't have to purchase local SIM cards when travelling abroad.
• With an eSIM, you can easily switch between mobile data plans from different providers.
• This allows you to choose the most cost-effective plan for the country you're visiting.
• No more paying exorbitant roaming fees from your home carrier.
• Many eSIM providers offer affordable daily or weekly data packages for travellers.
• You can activate and manage your eSIM plan directly from your smartphone.
• No need to find a local store or wait in line to get a physical SIM card.
• eSIMs are also more convenient as you don't have to swap physical SIM cards.
• This can save you time and hassle when frequently travelling between countries.

do you have to activate your phone with the custom first or is it ready to use if it's eSIM?
thank you
I activated here in Australia. I believe they need to know imei only if you stay longer. I’ll add the link of the one I bought. I also used Alosim (I had a special deal). Again no miei declaration as I only stayed 2 weeks
Tried to add link but it’s considered spam. Anyway the esim it’s $11.05 for 15gb. Worked well, only negative I couldn’t check how much data my kid was using.
@fozzie: How was the speed and reception? Thinking of getting one of these for our Bali trip in a week's time. Thanks
@Hypermajoris: Was pretty good. My daughter used it all the time, instead of wifi too so she used it all up in the 12 days (she run out last day) Only negative we couldn’t see how much data was used. Company is Yoowifi, they have a WhatsApp support and they responded to a question fairly quickly. As it was the last day I didn’t ask about how to check data, but you can ask them (this is their support +65 6100 9998)
I can see the ease of having an eSIM ready to go, but for price, it's hard to beat local deals. For instance, I just bought a 24GB Telkomsel SIM (data and calls) for $17 at a small shop on our way from the airport in Bali.
If you stop using it because you went other countries, does it stop counting the days too?
If you just need 1GB, you can use free 1GB Redbull mobile. It was working in Indonesia when I was there in April.

So it works in Indonesia? I signed up to eskimo and Red Bull but red bull didn’t have Indonesia as a supported country
Eskimo, Roamless definitely worked when I was there in Feb and March this year. I did test RedBull, but, only tried couple minutes. It did work.
RedBull doesn’t work. You get LTE but for some reason nothing loads
When were you in Indo?
It’s not listed as a supported country.
I’m going to Bali on Saturday so hopefully it works
How is $8.33 per GB a bargain?
See above comments this is not bargain. Elsewhere is cheaper

I've been told they have one of the best network coverage in majority part of Indonesia.
25GB with 30 days expiry ~ $10USD.Yes $8+ for 1GB.. what the
Expensive for 1GB, which is too little for 1 week.
Mahalll
Mahal
Ugh terrible - especially as some eSims will give you that for free to trial their service
Which ones @Ramrunner - don’t keep us hanging man!
LoL they've been on here quite a few times with their promos. Let me see which ones I have on my phone and how much free data I still have left:
Eskimo 0.477Gb
Roamless $15.15 5.3Gb
Red Bull Mobile App is crashing on me at the moment??
Connect Can't find the accompanying app - anyone know?
BetterRoaming Currently no creditHave all offered me trials in the past (found right here on OzB) with up to 1.5Gb data free (that was Eskimo).
Been overseas a few times and haven't paid for data yet :)
Klook has much cheaper plans for Indonesia. I bought 15gb for $11 last month (yo wifi was the company). Also 1 month validity.
