How are my cats and dogs excepted to use this without opposable thumbs?

    • +14

They aren't excepted … this vacuum cleaner is inclusive :)

  • Temporarily out of stock already?

Doesn't look like it to me?

    • +1

      yeh OOS for me too

      • -1

Ah damn, doesn't say it for me! Sorry folks

        • It does say temporarily, so it may still come back at this price

I use these cheap and cheerful bags for many years and they works very well.

The C3 is fitted with a HEPA filter so don't worry about the bags not filtering properly.

Bag vacuum are awesome construction dust such as gyprock all welcome no need to worry about clogging.

      This is all terrible advice.

Don't worry about bad quality bags because it has a HEPA filter? The HEPA filter is at the exhaust, so whatever rubbish that goes in is still going through your motor before the HEPA filter stops it from being pushed back into the air.

Gyprock probably won't hurt the machine, if you have well fitted bags (eg genuine), but I'd probably replace the bag afterwards - the fine dusts are still going to clog the bags prematurely.

RE bag not fitting properly - I noticed on my C3 even with genuine bags if you open it up it'll jump out of the bag holding clip, and when you shut it a full seal won't be made. Wrecked the first HEPA cartridge after less than five uses due to this.

The Aliexpress bags are pretty much identical generics, so don't worry about crap flying through the motor if used correctly. (there is a non-HEPA filter for large particles before the motor anyway)

      • Completely agree.
I have a couple of old handmedown Hoover aura II's I use for construction. Replace the bags often. Use genuine pet/hygiene ones, plus secondary filter (next to the bag, before motor). Still, these vacuums aren't made for that kinda workload. Relying on the exhaust filter is crazy-talk.

Just keep in mind that the C3 Cat and Dog does NOT come with a HEPA filter. It actually comes with a normal carbon filter (to neutralise dog / car odours).

I purchased one 6 months ago after seeing the Amazon listing says it comes with a HEPA filter which it definitely does not. Contacted Amazon and they refunded me for the price of a new HEPA filer - about $50. I see Amazon is still advertising them as coming with a HEPA but 100% it doesn't come with one if you need HEPA for allergies etc.

      • I purchased the last one (890w) before it went out of stock and it arrived yesterday. (I would have posted the deal, but as I said, it was the last one). The one I received definitely does come with a HEPA filter.

    • Bag vacuums are completely hopeless for plaster dust.

Is anyone able to comment on the difference between this 890W model vs the 2000W? From what I've read, they're largely the same suction, making the 890W better due to lower power usage?

    • Im curious about this too.
Is there any difference between the 2?

    • +2

I recently bought the 890w model, I believe the 2000w is no longer made. I managed to get JB Hifi to price match pretty easily. It has great suction, not sure you would want for more, in fact sometimes too powerful, as it sticks to the carpet a bit.
Overall a very nice vacuum cleaner.

      • Thanks! Good to hear of another happy owner of the 890w model.

How does this compare to a Dyson cylinder vacuum with a Tangle-Free Turbine Tool? It gets rid of the hair but requires a lot of back/forth on carpets. I use a mixture of a Roomba (useless on pet hair as pushes it around) and the Dyson?

    • +1

Miele should be quicker at picking up hair on carpet, they have much better suction.

Dyson are terrible for everything except convenience.

    • If you have a lot of carpets, get a vacuum with a real powerhead like one of the Shark DuoClean models.

    • All cordless vacuums / robots are pretty average on carpet. As others said, stains and cordless are convenient - but if you look at a Choice or Consumer Reports review, they only do well on easy surfaces.

They’ll get some fur and dust from carpet but not as good as a decent canister/bagged vacuum.

    • I bought a dyson and this collecting dust, mainly due to easy to use and maneuverability.
Suction is not everything. I dont have pets so I can't comment on pet hair but dyson do good job on hair with power head.

    I cancelled my order
I think its best to get the 2000w model
This one is most likely an eco model and amazon hasnt properly listed the item as the eco model

  • We never thought we needed a vacuum like this one, until we went through a few others. They started ok, but got tired. And our new home is laminate downstairs, tiles wet areas (of course). And it wasn't up to it. Everything about this Miele is better. Love it. 4 years, like new.

  • Best vacuum I've had. Mine is about ten years old and it's still strong.

    • 30 years for German built if you be gentle with the power cord retracting gear. The powercord system broke due to abuse. My second Miele approach 24 years now living in the shed doing fine carpentry work. Bought a new one recently with power head for indoor use.

Still think this vaccuum cleaner sucks at this price.
