No Swap and Go Full 8.5kg Gas Bottles at Bunnings Brisbane South Side

Tried doing a swap and go at Bunnings Brisbane South Side without success today. They could not even tell me when stock would be available. Checked about 15 Bunnings stores on the net without one having any gas available.
Is there a gas shortage which I am not aware off or what ?
Also where would you suggest I can do a swap and go at a reasonable price ?

    Tried your local Shell Servo?

Swap-n-Go is not a Bunnings exclusive.

Have you tried looking at https://www.elgas.com.au/swap-n-go-locator/ for other locations that can swap over?

I think you got negged by a climate denier…

There's a few BCF on the southside, perhaps try a refill instead of swap? Normally it's cheaper

or look up nearby (large) camping stores, many offer refills.

Or get it filled at bbq galores if there is one near you. You need to wait around a bit but it's cheaper than swap n go

or use the free electric BBQ at your local park.

  • I find it best to call the store up first. Their online stock availability is not very accurate. I get my bottles refilled at BBQ Galore these days. Takes a bit of time, but it is cheaper than Bunnings.

There's always plenty of half full ones on hard rubbish. Just stock up each time it comes around.

Reminds me of this video from Pete's Tools I saw yesterday.

Need to do a swap and go as I have some dodge gas bottles (got them through Bunnings S&G) that wouldn't pass muster.
Rang EG Ampol at Moorooka was told probably but she couldn't go out an have a look so I was welcome to come up and see if they had any. Great that was real helpful.

    7-11 do it.

Also, check Marketplace - occasionally can get full gas bottles for free.

Thanks to all that replied, ended up going to the local 7-11 and getting 2 S&G bottles (they had plenty) now I might be able to get a couple refilled next time :)

Ring before you go. Got caught out last week at a BBQ galore store, total pain to carry the bottle in and out as it's right inside a mall, only to find they're out of gas, ended up at BCF still saved $7 with 1/2KG more at 9KG than doing 8.5KG S&G @ Bunnings for $31.50.

      • So BCF costs $24.50 for a 9kg refill?
