Surely at that price these are nearly OOD?

    • What an ood thing to say

  • Swaggle is owned by Coles btw
Ordered a science diet on special the other day
They must be changing specials every week to build some orders

  • Lifewise Grain Free Turkey 18kg, $144.40

    Not bad, not the best

    • What do you consider good and best? Just bought 20kg taste of wild last week

      • +2

Lifewise is fantastic, the price isn’t bad but not the best it’s been

Black Hawk on the other paw, gave 5 dogs I know personally (and hundreds more reported online) diarrhoea

        • +1

don't they all? if it's the first time they're on it?

My dog got into the bag once and ate herself silly .. that ended in fountains of diarrhoea

          • +2

            @namanuu: Firstly, no

Second, BlackHawk changed their recipe, before denying they changed their recipe, then eventually admitting they did in fact change their recipe, but that it can’t be the cause of the illness in hundreds of dogs in different states

            • +1

@linkindan: @namanuu yesh a lot of dogs get it when changing food, a lot more in puppy than older dogs… always good to do the 25% /50% /75% spit to bring them over to a new food

            • @linkindan: Maybe it's because they haven't matched the picture on the product with their dog?

I have a long-haired shepherd and so she matches the product. and she loves those Bikkies or is it bikies? hrmm

        • +3

The breeder we got our pup off gave them blackhawk. For the first 6 months we couldnt put our finger on my he had constant diarrhoea. Took him off blackhawk and he was fine since. Never been back to the brand.

Spoke with my vet after trying lifewise recently. She advised me to switch off it as soon as the bag is done.

She was not a fan to say the least

          • +1

@madbison: I’ve been a long time Lifewise customer, more so when it was cheaper, I’ve had zero issues with it.

Also no issues with Black Hawk, Canidae & Taste of the Wild.

I personally wouldn’t take nutritional advice from vets as they usually advertise brands that they work with & sell.

      • How do you find taste of wild? Is there a lot of protein in there or is it bulked out with rice/carbs? Our dog is pretty picky and we're struggling to get him to eat royal canin.

        • +1

No complaint. I have tried several flavours, and my dog has no issues with any of them. It is not cheap, but also not too expensive.

          • @aec: You can consistently get it for under $100 in the large bag. I shifted to this off black hawk some time ago and the dog hasn’t minded.

    • +1

I'm getting $122 then $109.80 with code FIRST10ET2 for the Turkey variety

  • +1

Awesome! My Greyhound is an absolute fiend for this (as well as anything else food related)

Got an 18kg bag of Lifewise for $104.40, almost back to the normal price 2-3 years ago.

    Dinner sorted, thanks!

    • where from mate? That's a good price.
My pooch has nearly finished his first bag of turkey grain free. Happy repeat customer

      • +1

From Swaggle. I just ordered another bag with the COLES15 coupon I missed from the previous order. Both are the non grain free variety (fish, kangaroo).

Royal Canin Veterinary Urinary So Dry Cat Food, 7kg
    Pet Circle: $119.70 auto delivery
    Swaggle: $156.74 auto delivery

Swaggle probably worth using for the one auto delivery order with 30% off but for any of the stuff I order regularly, Pet Circle is cheaper.

  • +1

Can you cancel the auto delivery so you only get the one order with 30% off?

  • $36 shipping for me unfortunately, brings it to a normal price

  • Good.timing, scored one

  • +1

    Thanks OP Great Find :))

  • What is the expiry usually on these 20kg Blackhawk bags?

    • +1

Usually good for 1 year, so will have months to consume it, not more than a year.

  • -1

Thanks for this OP. Didn't get Blackhawk as that stuff is terrible, but you alerted me to this website. Good price on Hypro and Lifewise after discount.

    • Is Hypro better than Blackhawk? It's cheaper

      • Yeah it's a lot better.

        • Why is it better? I might change then. Because Blackhawk is a lot more expensive than Hypro isn't it?

  • +3

Don't cancel the auto-delivery straight away by the sounds of this:
"Price determined at point of shipment. Check out our FAQ's for more information."
    (On the My Auto-Delivery page)

    • Payment came out of my account as soon as I got purchase, I already cancelled my auto delivery as soon as I bought it, so I'll make sure I don't have any money in my account just in case

    • Managed to score 20kg of the medium sized with COLES15 stacked on top came to $72.

When do you suggest to cancel the auto subscription?
Straight away or a day later?

  • +3

get $10 off your first order of $100 or more*.
    Use code FIRST10ET at checkout.

Thank you, that's why always read comments. :D

  • Isn't adult lamb just mutton?

    • +1

I'm guessing this is for adult dogs, not made from adult lamb.

  • Codes work out to getting a good price on a lot of things. Picked up a big bag of K9 natural freeze dried.

Guys please do some research on dog foods. Some of them are abysmal quality and people who have issues with their dogs and diarrhoea, I have only had that when I have tried what was low quality products. Whenever I have changed to good quality products, never had any issues.

I have seen some horrible reports on Blackhawk so I never touch them these days even if on special. Not worth it for your furbaby.

    • Really? I thought it was like up there in the a-teir foods. Meant to be that is. Never used.

      • From what i remember about them, They started off decent and then declined really fast via making changes to their products and insisting there werent any changes when customers reported sudden health issues with their pets. It was all in the name of profits, get customers in and then reduce quality to increase profits.

I dont think they were ever A-tier though.

        • (profanity) em then!

        • Care to substantiate? Everyone says that same thing about dog food brands

    • Any brands you can recommend that doesnt break the bank?

      • Interestingly and i know some politicians / animal welfare groups are fighting to change this and i heard that there were going to be changes so i dont know if its already happened. BUT the pet food industry is actually not regulated like the US market is and so one of the few times where US food product is actually better quality and stricter regulations for pet foods than Aussie.

Saying that there are still some good aussie brands out there, there are pet food sites that compare different brands and tell you the pros and cons, of course at the end of the day its all about what you need as well and your budget.

I have used quite a few different brands, I found Canidae and Taste of Wild good and up there for me and my dog. There were a couple of others that i found good as well.

  • Couple of 15kg bags for $93 and free shipping. Pretty happy with that.

  • What's a good wet food brand?

  • +1

My Groodle loves this particular flavour. No issues at all and he was a fussy eater being only 1 year old I struggled to find him something that he liked and would eat right away rather than grazing. He does with this brand and flavour, no issues from the poo department and we have almost finished 1 20kg bag.

    • likewise, my dog was a shocking grazer until I got onto BlackHawk. For those concerned with the runs, maybe consider whether your dog would be better on grain free food. I have never had any issues but admittedly only use the grain free (as it typically has higher protein content).

  • Finally some food for my adult lamb

  • +1

    OOS

  • Is it sheep or lamb? Surely it cannot be both.

  • Nice one I bought Blackhawk 15kg Salmon for $95.40. Normally pay $140

  • Black Hawk puppy food is cheap, too. Petbarn matched Swaggle last time ($128), it is even cheaper now ($114).

Ordered 20kg, $72 delivered, fantastic value.

  • +1

Thanks for making me aware of this company, made it worth it to try a bag of LifeWise.

  • Order delivered today. Good overall first experience.

  • Surprised 20kg bag was delivered in a box, thought they were just going to slap a shipping label on the bag and ship it as is. Like Amazon sometimes does that.

No complaints, especially after saving $50 and delivered.
