Most of the time pre-paid is better, but if you want a new phone and don’t have the money right now these plans can help.

Just wondering under what situation would you churn 120GB of data a month using your mobile?
I was in this boat (kinda still am), my home internet mbps down wasnt good and didn't have access to higher tier plans and the mobile network speeds were way faster so I used it to do my steam game updates. So when I got home from work id link up to the phone to get the update then switch back to home internet to play as latency was better.
If it was your soul streaming/content consuming device alone, with mobile data the only option available/used for accessing the internet for whatever reason.

What OP meant was that the everyday offer is the $500 JB gift card. Since we’re getting a free Pixel 8a when signing up, the new promo overrides the everyday promo

Annoying I need to port out my existing number and then back in to get this deal. Any work-arounds?
Not sure if this still works but you can try create a new account with a new number. After this, port your existing number to a Telstra pre-paid number under the same account. Then you can contact Telstra support to switch the numbers of the accounts so the new number is now the prepaid plan and your existing number is under the postpaid plan. You can let the new number lapse and it should be fine.
This worked 2 or 3 years ago, but I’m not sure if they’ve caught on to this scheme yet.
ported out and in within 15mins. Salesperson told me to get the Belong prepaid which was on special, then i ported back in. even took the cost of the prepaid off my purchase
