Tommee Tippee Twist & Click Nappy Disposal Refills 12-Pack $50.60 (Max 1 Per Order) + $13.95 Del ($0 with $120+) @ Tommee Tippee

These are massively overpriced even when discounted, but at least this seems to be a good discount, even if limited to 1 per purchase, and you can make multiple orders.
Sign up (using a temp mail address) for a 15% discount.
Total price for me was $56.96 including delivery, using a 15% discount code that was emailed to a temporary email address.
I ordered and checked out as a guest, then ordered another one using a different email address.

Or you can opt to buy DIY refill kits (which reuses the plastic cassettes) and makes it much cheaper (e.g https://www.amazon.com.au/Universal-Melloa-Compatible-Dispos…).

  • Has any one had success with the DIY refills? I'm stuck with this set up so keen to see if it would pass the wife acceptance test.

Wife’s happy with the no frills refills on Amazon. Although I prefer throwing the nappies straight on an outside bin.

Tried some brand from ebay and it was all fine.

I have used them, they a little time consuming.
You basically roll plastic down a tube and stuff it into the empty cassette. I've found it doesn't last as long (e.g. not as much plastic bag gets into the cassette. But's it cheap, effective and massively reduces the plastic waste (by reusing the cassettes), if a little time consuming. You can easily do it whilst watching some TV though without much thought.

no frills refills are good and easy to replace (amazon was about the same price as their website)
I tried some cheaper refills, they let more smell through, would not recommend

I get them from Aliexpress and they're not bad. Just keep a couple of these canisters to put them in. They don't quite last as long but they're like $30 for 12 instead of the usual $80-90

Idk about the DIY refills but we used these ones instead of the tommee tippee ones, cheaper and same design.

Plastic thicker so better at stopping the smell but more fiddly to tie and cut off.

    • Been using them for the last 9-10 months and they're great. Been using the same 10 TT plastic containers since we had our baby, I refill 10 at a time so not having to do it all the time. Not much hassle, the bags I get from amazon come in a cardboard tube which is also what you use to to refill. Just a matter of threading the bags over the cardboard tube, very simple :)

  • This is enough for 200 double bagged poos and is only $6. It also results in much less plastic waste.

Even if you're a weirdo and want to quadruple bag it, it's cheaper and less wasteful

    • The reason we switched was because TT actually caused less waste. Even with double bagging the smell often got bad enough to change the bin liner way before it was full. The individual bags plus the bin liners would be more than the amount of plastic the single tube uses, and you can go longer between bin changes if you twist enough.

      • Huh? I don't see how that's possible. Don't need a bin liner… They're fine for the midnight to 6am shift where walking outside is a pain and once they're in the external waste bin there's no need to worry

        • Different needs I guess. Our physical bin can't be carried out of the nursery so need a liner to take the contents. The trip to our outside bins is quite long so we keep that to a minimum as well.

  • why is plastic bag so expensive

    • +1

I don't even know why people have these for new borns when the poop don't even smell.

      • Yea, I made the mistake of buying one when we had our boys, but basically used the bags that came with it, and couldn't justify it. We are 2 years in, and still just use small bags from the supermarket, and a little flip to bin. You clean it out regularly enough, smell is no problem at all.
Even the diy refills are too expensive for what it is.

Save your dollars, and use a normal bin

The easiest and cheapest way is to manually refill them.
It takes 30sec for 1 refill

    • how long 100m last for? any estimate please? i will have a newborn soon

      • +1

50m fills about 5. You will use about 1 or 2 a month early on depending on how you use them. I put wee nappies into regular kitchen bin as no smell so the cartridge lasts longer as it only has pool nappies. Once they are in day care then use goes way down.

      • +1

I would say 100m could last for 6 months for a newborn.

If you are starting get yourself 400m roll. That is the equivalent of 40 original cassettes.
They are around $59 and that might last for all the nappy stage.

  • I’m trying to ask if anyone’s used the refills on ali express that are just bags you put into the cassette. They are $26.79 for 10.
