When they say , St.George, Westpac included?

      • Nope, has to be St George, BoM, or BSA

        • +2

Which really really stinks. It was one of the reasons I kept a westpac account open. If shopback/westpac is reading this, i'll be using cashrewards from now on where if rates are the same (which is often).

          • +3

@WillisAU: I agree, it's BS that they would do the initial agreement with Westpac, then do a separate agreement with St George/the other brands that are all under Westpac ._.

Are St George et al. that desperate to pump up their numbers?

      • No

    • Buy now and get rejected later. No thanks.

      • Never been rejected for any of these Bank of Melbz ones. Probs churned through a few hundred dollars worth so far

    • +1

Thanks OP. Previous two superswap bonuses have already been paid out

    • shopback, starts with laughter, ends in tears, would you like a data breach with your possible cash back?

      • any decent organisation that has been breached you would assume they would do better next time

pretty sure lots of people are still with Shopback after the data breach. data that was exposed was a fake name which Shopback users should have, email address and phone number… I guess it's not as bad as other hacks where licence, DOB and credit card was leaked

      • u might need to stop using the internet and move into the mountains if that's your number 1 worry.

At least cashback for GC gets paid out relatively fast, couple days at most, and more reliable than online stores’ cashbacks

what happened to westpac offers? booo

      • I think they're still there but the upsized ones are on Wednesdays i.e. Westpac Wednesdays

    • Forgive the ignorance - how do we find out which BoM card is eligible?

  • +1

Sigh.. I guess I'm a sucker, I've signed up for a St George account now.

Would be nice if they could instantly issue a virtual debit card via the app.

you will need to verify your identify in your local branch

      • I've already got my account set up and they sent me an email confirming my ID was verified via Equifax, I've been a St George customer previously (closed that account years ago cuz I wasn't using it) so I assume I was able to get around that

      • Yeah I had to visit the branch to activate the card. Whole process of signing up and activating was such a pain in the ass.

The nerve of their pamphlets in the mail saying "start using your card right away!"

    • There were cases where they didn't send the physical card/customer had to prompt them sending the card. If your card hasn't arrived after a week, I'd suggest to ring them.

      • +1

This happened to me. Then they made me go through ID verification again, which was already done during the sign up process.

These Westpac sub-brands are some of the most f-ed up banking orgs that I have come across.

Even after being verified, they didn't send me the card automatically.
When I called up about it, they said I would have collect the card from my local branch.

        • I used to be a contractor for Westpac Corp - these sub brands are literally run separately from Westpac. They have their own system, loyalty program etc. Kind of like Bankwest and CBA - don't expect the same service even though both are owned by the same parent corp.

  • My SB superswap gift card purchased yesterday still pending and can't reach out any shopback customer service

    • Get help via the chat bot then someone will response you via email all response I get from Jessie is copy and pasted

      • I waiting for chat bot for long time no live person come out~

        • it wont, once you provided the information, it say someone will answer your query shortly(something like this), instead of a real person continue, it just create a ticket, which is very dumb.

          • @SnoozeAndLose: I have created a ticket, but sometime it's shows 'Okay! Our agent will talk to you shortly!', then even wait for ages still no one come to me.

            • @billhan: Yes that was what I saw as well, end up waiting for an hour then someone response to me via email, ask the bot to create a ticket for you instead.

Where are all the Westpac bonus now?

      Honeymoon is Over

    • I think they're still there but the upsized ones are on Wednesdays i.e. Westpac Wednesdays

  • Payment is being declined when I used my card for some reason. It worked when I bought about a week ago. BOM said no issues or block on my card/account.

    • Same, St George card not working on either offer.

      • Amazon attempt finally went through this morning.
Super Swap failed again at the same time.

Super Swap finally went through just now

  • Thanks - both just tracked for me now

  • Do Westpac own a chunk of Shopback or something? Or looking to get member count to a certain level before acquiring it? Seems like they've largely given up on Westpac sign ups, and are trying to expand via their subsidiaries.

    • Pretty sure they've just got a contract with them, it's not like how Cashrewards is now owned by ANZ

      • Inb4 the eventual acquisition

    • +1

Google your question and then select News . Yea is the answer

  • +1

Wtf is with these other banks? Might as well get rid of the Westpac card at this rate. Only reason had it was shopback. So many changing hoops what is wrong with these people.

    • Read my comment above. Makes perfect sense. Westpac invested in Shopback. Westpac owns those other banks. Westpac trying to boost Shopback membership count by leveraging deals for their other subsidiaries.

      • Makes sense to build subscriber counts, many to become largely idle in short order i reckon. But to the detriment of active subs that joined westpac/shopback as those deals are now less and move transactions back to cashrewards.

        • I rarely find cashrewards to offer better rates 🤷

  • Cheers got both

  • Shopback Super Swap portion seems to have expired :( Got the Amazon one today though
