ToolPRO Wallet Tool Kit 51 Piece $32.99 C&C Only @ Supercheap Auto

790

Useful compact tool set to keep in the car. Purchased this a few years back when it was $20 on clearance and have unexpectedly used it countless times for odd jobs.

This is part of Mother's Day deals for 2024.

      Only a single 10mm socket?? That's only about a week's worth!!

      • I buy them in bulk, seriously..!

    • Anyone knows the sockets sizes?

  • I was doing some Reno’s/repairs at a house we were moving in to - but kept forgetting specific tools.

This kit saved me at least 10 trips. 💯 worth it for the price

    • Nice one with the spanners and sockets. Larger sockets too.

Toolpro is actually surprisingly good. Basic tools, but they've never let me down.

    • Yes, I have owned a few Toolpro tools, they are good quality for DIY use. Probably not good enough for professional mechanics.

Thanks OP, just bought a kit, seems handy to be kept in my 4x4.

    • I was reading they changed from made in Taiwan to made in India for a lot of stuff and the Indian stuff is way worse, and all the decent quality good will reviews is from the Taiwan stuff.

  • Probably a good one to throw in your girlfriend’s car .

Good excuse for unexpected late night visits

Need to check under her hood?

I'm pretty sure I left my 10mm socket in there

I recommend you take the batteries out of the torch, and store them in a box or plastic bag inside the kit. So if you don't use the kit for a few years, the batteries won't melt down inside the torch.

It looks like a 3xAAA battery torch, you can easily buy 4xAAA battery storage cases on eBay and Amazon.

    • +3

Good call. I have this kit and it is a 3xAAA torch. I replaced mine with Eneloops to stop them leaking.

      • I have had eneloops leak.

        • They can leak, if the overpressure seal has ruptured. Most commonly this is caused by overcharging, almost always caused by a "dumb" (timer only) charger. Although there are also some "smart" chargers that barely qualify as smart, and they can also damage NiMh batteries.

However, such damaged NiMh batteries normally only corrode the battery contacts, they don't go into full "swell and jam inside the torch" self-destruct mode.

You can use carbon batteries also, if you can find them (as opposed to alkaline). They are not known for leaking anywhere near as quickly as alkalines

        • +1

          if you can find them

I'm pretty sure all batteries labeled as "Heavy Duty" or "Super Heavy Duty" are zinc-carbon batteries, like these from BigW: https://www.bigw.com.au/product/eveready-heavy-duty-aa-batte…

          • +1

@Russ: Yes they are, I just put the caveat in because I don't buy batteries anymore since converting many years ago to rechargeable, and any time I have come across cheap battery deals here they are always alkaline. Note that carbons ones aren't good for high draw applications like cameras/flashes

      Good suggestion Russ.

  • I keep one of these in my car and have for the past few years, it's a decent little kit of rather ordinary quality tools, but you get what you pay for and I've found it useful over the years.

  • I have a similar kit from Kmart I keep in the car. Yes, the tools are terrible quality. But it works when you need them. This kit looks real good, I'd get it if I didn't have the other kit

    • Pass your Kmart kit to someone else and get this kit for yourself.

      • Nah… Too lazy

        • But it might make you happier

I really hate this website ….thanks OP

  • Thanks OP. Great way to force me to not carry huge kit in my car.

fun fact, tool pro is "work pro" rebranded and you can find it all over AliExpress…
lol you can find the entire super cheap auto product range here: https://www.workprotool.com/

Great info, can you list an example on AliExpress for the one in this deal? :)

    • Always wondered who in China they were using. Thanks.

  • This was a good little set until I got progressively worse at putting all the little bits and pieces back in their allocated spots.

Eventually they all got dumped in my big toolkit

  • great liitle kit. the prev version had a rachet bit driver though, so was slightly better.

if it should move - wd40
if it shouldn't move - duct tape

0 sockets. That's more for the home than the car.

  • +5

Note, the 51 piece makes it seem like a lot of tools, but that includes every individual size socket and every driver bit for the bit driver.(And they count the storage case as a tool too).
It's really a 15 piece kit if you count it in a sensible way. Still good value at this price! But I've got a similar one from about 10 years ago I still use.
