Hey all,
I've recently been acquainted with a friend who's interested in the "weird and wacky" parts of Melbourne, think cat cafes, axe-throwing bars, and ACDC/Hosier Lane.
Was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on things to do in the city or the eastern suburbs?
Cheers, violatrees2.

I'm out of the loop but definitely need more info on this reference.
/r/fakeseizureguy has been harrassing people for years. He gets weird sexual gratification out of people sitting on him when he's having a "seizure". He'll run away if you try to call and ambulance.
TIL something I didn't want to learn.
@brendanm: To brighten up your day there is a man who walks around with a giant carrot.
From what I've heard, a quick boot to the face is the correct method of fixing his so called "seizures".
Drinking and throwing axes does not sound like a good idea.
Yeah they don't let you do that. Can only drink afterwards.
It sounds like the kind of bar Zoolander would come up with.
It does!
I think a lot of those things (like axe throwing) you can do in most cities, similar to that vibe are smash rooms. Where you can destroy stuff in a dedicated room, there's multiple of those around the city, I think the CBD area one is in Collingwood.
Zero Latency VR at Docklands is great fun if you haven't done something like that before. Just a short walk from there is ArtVo, which is interactive art/photoshoot opportunities. There's lots of strange art along Docklands promenade in general, from the sculptures outside CostCo, down the 'cow stuck in a tree' along the waterfront.
In Platypus Alley off Little Bourke St is a doomsday clock that is continually counting down until 2030.
What happens when we hit 2030?
No worries, we don't
Can anyone please explain the ring of squatting Asian people sculpture?
The Vaudeville Revue is an option, although the only time I went there it was a really eh on the performance (only went for a friend). Neat building though.
Shimmery burlesque is on at the end of May, if you're up for something a bit more risque
You can go to Mjolner and drink beer out of a horn, that was fun and the food was really good (did a work even there)Escape rooms? Trapt and Strike are decent options in the CBD. Ukiyo (Brunswick), Curium (Collingwood) and the Mystery Rooms (Fitzroy) are my favourites in Melbourne.
ACMI exhibitions can be interesting: https://www.acmi.net.au/whats-on/exhibitions/
Interactive darts are fun. I’ve tried the one at Ballers Clubhouse in the CBD.
Themed cocktail bars eg Berlin Bar, Luwow, Double Happiness.
Creative workshops eg rug tufting workshop, fluid bear workshop.
There's a shitload of overly terrible 'buskers' with way too much amplification down the main strip lately.
Maybe have a tomato throwing comp with them as the target.
Can play darts at Oche.
Also, the Ballers Clubhouse has darts, shuffle boards, ball pits and more.
There is also rock climbing place in the CBD.
The Butterfly Club has lots of interesting trinkets and collectibles and just weird stuff in every single crook and cranny; plus the shows there are also pretty good.
If you come across a guy having a "seizure" and he wants you to sit on him…. don't do it.
