Absolutely no issues with my S21FE with the Exynos chip. It doesn't get the benchmark scores of the Snapdragon, but it's a phone, not a test bench. Very rarely do I encounter lag. Exynos is fine.
Have loads of issues with reception (running dual sim) and from what I've read it's likely due to the poor modem of the exynos in my s21. I certainly won't buy another exynos
I had terrible power consumption on my last Exynos powered device. Same with Pixel's Tensor chips fab by Samsung…well known about lack luster battery endurance. Never again. Buy TSMC built soc.
At this point I would take a TSMC built MediaTek over Samsung built Exynos. Or a lower tier Snapdragon (of same generation) is still better than Exynos.
@hippo2s: I have a Nothing 2a with a Dimensity 7200 Pro, first mediatek chip I've ever owned - it routinely gets 10+ hour plus SOT if just at home. Zero reception issues and is the coolest running smart phone I've had in years.
Have to say I'm really impressed and would happily take one of their flagship chips now.
Apart from the camera, prefer it over the S22U and it's toaster of a CPU I was coming from.

Considering the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 also sucks, has poor battery life and heats up quickly, not sure why this is such a big issue? Samsung have been doing this for years, this shouldn't really be a reason to downvote. Both chips are made on the same Samsung 4nm node (yes, even the SD 8 Gen 1, SD 8+ Gen 1 was TSMC). The SD 888 and SD 8 Gen 1 were two of the worst chips Qualcomm ever made.

There are no scenarios where you would ever take an Exynos 2200 modem over the Snapdragon X65
The fact that Samsung is compelled to offer the better Snapdragon in the largest US market is confirmation that when they need to compete, the 2200 fails

The poor quality of Exynos modems is a massive reason to downvote
This is not about node quality or battery life and heat issues with general apps
This is about Samsung's lack of fundamental engineering in the cellular stack - made worse in dual SIM models such as this - causing all types of connection and network issues that are easily confirmed with a simple search

I'd use the Exynos if I had to, because I've never had any issues personally with the modem in Exynos devices. The last Exynos device I had was the Galaxy A54 5G, and that was perfectly fine with dual SIM.
Hmm, in my Exynos modem vs iPhone 14, I found the Exynos modem on the pixel 7 pro to be better in low signal environments.

TL;DW their testing showed the Snapdragon had better battery life, about 90m more on average.
I preferred the photo look on the Exynos, but the reviewer preferred the Snapdragon.
Looking up the Snapdragon version, I wouldn't get it, just go for the regular S23, there's only about $50 in it, around $760 and $799
If you want a more budget S23 FE, this seems to be a reasonable deal, slightly worse battery life, small variants in the camera, for $599, you'd shop this against maybe a Galaxy A55, maybe an S21 actually, otherwise a Google Pixel 7?

Pixel 8 was trash. I had 3 weeks and returned it. Battery life was shocking out of the box. Didn't even last 12 hours. Was laggy compared to my s21. Would not recommend. And the support from Google was so bad. And it didn't back up effectively on its own. By default didnt back up screenshots, or SMS and MMS. Terrible, terrible phone
But lots of reviews on youtube and it says like 10-12 % battery lasting difference between pixel 8 and pro model?
