Looking at getting solar but a bit out of the loop. Does anyone have any recommendations of reputable installers in Sydney?
Also any good brands of components I should get and others I should avoid?

then ye sure
OR you just go to solarquotes and use recommended installers from that website. At least you will get three comparable quotes from three reputable installers

Solar quotes recommended installers were very costly and still quite pushy. The website does have some good information. Solar Quotes is the easy option though, if going through big installers haggle and play them off against each other they will keep dropping prices, they just contract out the installation. Also, decide the tier of equipment e.g. low to mid would be trina and sungrow.
Yes, that has been my experience too. Part of the reason they are expensive is because they only offer solar with micro inverters.
Sydney must have hundreds of solar businesses.

Myself and my 2 friends have got them to install solar panels.
The problem is that we insist they install specific brand solar panels and inverters and that pushes up the installation cost. If you leave them to install the best solar panel and inverter then that will bring the installation cost down.
2 years back I had spent for a 6kw system of A$ 2800, none of them were recognized brands but I can say that this system is still running flowless and I am happy with them.
Penrith Solar Centre is top notch.
