What Wireless Headset Are You Currently Using or Have Found to Be Very Good in The past?

Still using the $69 HyperX Cloud Stinger Core Wireless PC I got from this over a year old deal

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/746906

It is pretty great except for the fact that sometimes it does not charge so I have to wait for another time or day to try again (odd issue)

My 5+ year old wired gaming headset is starting to die (loose fraying cable) and I am really liking wireless headsets now so am wondering what everyone else is using

Really finding the flip mic up to mute function pretty great on the HyperX Cloud Stinger Core Wireless PC and it is very comfortable to use like my dying wired Sades 708GT

In the meantime I can use my bluetooth headphones if worst comes to worst

  • I'm using M50x with modmic, I actually really hate this setup. Wish I just paid more for good wireless headphones with microphone built in.

    • what would you get now if given another chance

      • Dunno, haven't used my gaming PC in years for gaming. Except a little Lethal Company, which made me look for my old modmic in the first place.

But good quality wireless with mic built in, I'd probably expect to spend like $300+.

        • I find myself using it mainly just for discord nowadays.. Nice to just chat or listen in and make food or watch a movie together these days sometimes..

Yeah I have been playing a lot less games these days taking a break but I can see myself getting back into it if I find the right game with good voice communication

    • I'd probably go the opposite way.

I have the Xbox wireless headphone which has been good enough for the few online games I play. For work, I just use whichever headphones and the webcam or laptops mic.

If I was buying now, I'd seriously consider the wireless modmic and putting attachment points on a few wired headphones.

  • +1

just keeping this here for research purposes some good cheap ones here for just my basic needs

  • I've had the Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless for about 5 years now - still going strong.
Swappable batteries mean no downtime if you forget to charge, sound quality is amazing.
Only downside is it's expensive AF.

    • How much did you get them for if I may ask

I guess if I can get over 5 years out of them it might be a worthy investment

      • I got them about 6 years ago, in 2018 for $407.
They've been superseeded by the newer Arctis Nova Pro Wireless now.

        • Ah ok nice

Right now it's a toss up between https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/841817 and the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless

Leaning towards the cheaper $177 300 hour battery life alphas unless I can find out if the sound quality is much much better.. But honestly I'm not doing anything major with them just basic gaming and Discord mainly and some music listening so don't need the best of the best just good enough and last a while

          • @AlienC: I've used Corsair, HyperX, Logitech and Steelseries with myself and my partner.
The Corsair one battery failed after less than a year (warrantied and got a refund) and had the occasional driver upset.
HyperX ones were alright, but didn't have sidetone so my partner would talk louder than she needed to…
Logitech ones are what she's using at the moment and she really likes them.

            • @duk242: The logitech g435 looks promising as a budget one

              • @AlienC: Yeah, she's pretty happy with the G733 - the microphone being closer to her mouth makes it better when there's two of us in the room - helps for blocking out my noise :P

  • AirPod pro 2

  • Razer Nari Essential since June 2021 ($119). I've had a tendency to trash very expensive headsets due to clumsiness, but this one has proven to be more robust than most.

Sound and battery life has been great.

Sadly, no longer available but I would definitely get a Razer again.

  • My wife is deaf in one ear and not good in the other. She finds Bluetooth bone conduction helps her a great deal watching tv and tablet. Has the Shokz Openrun Pro ( Strava).

  • Got AKG N700nc M2 around 2019-2020 for $99 and they're still kicking. I use this microphone kit that just swivels on it's arm when I need it.

Personally not a fan of headsets with built in mic's. You're either sacrificing audio quality or microphone quality having both in one. In the past I've used $2 lapel mics and even a singstar microphone sitting in a cup to avoid "gaming" headsets.

    • Oh yeah I feel you.

Only reason I started looking into it is I can multi task with it like do some chores or cook food and still hear the conversation.

I'm all about convenience mostly. If it makes my life easier I'm willing to sacrifice other stuff.

  • I've been using the Avantree Aria for about 4 years for watching shows or attending meetings on the move. I have a dedicated wired headphones & mic for when I'm stationary.
The Aria has been awesome, especially for the price, and Avantree have had excellent customer support in my experience.

  • I've had my hyperx cloud flight s for around 4 years now, ear pads are starting to fall apart but can get replacements.

  • Im using the audeze maxwell which i love, they're my first wireless headset for 'gaming' but the technology behind these with their planar drivers just reproduces music/sounds differently and i noticed a difference once i bought them. Added depth to in-game music/sounds that i'd previously heard before. They are quite pricey and heavy compared to other headsets but i'd probably rebuy these if mine were to break.
