  • Just had a peek to see what it's like. Can get a caravan on camplify for what some people want for a trailer.

    • @afoveht Hire My Trailer specialises in trailers. We would be an alternative to Kennards, MoveYourself, Uhaul or Bunnings.

Or just buy a long piece of wood and hire a trailor for free from Bunnings for 2 hours

You can return said lumber too…

    • I even did it without lumber, told them ive bought thousands of dollars worth of stuff and borrowing their free trailer if noone else is using it would be of little consequence, the guy said, fair enough and let me take it

    • I couldn't agree more if you are only looking for a 2 hour hire. Our renters are generally families looking to use the trailer for camping or house moves. 2 hours is not enough which is why Hire My Trailer's minimum time period is 24 hours.

Interesting statement, technically true if your the only player in the market

With no insurance I think you're opening yourselves and others up for a load of headache should anything happen.

    • +1

They are making sure they won't get a headache. All risk goes to the trailer owner primarily and to a lesser extend to the hirer. This is a flawed and dangerous business model.

Wow this is borderline a scam. So you a 30% cut while the owner of the trailer takes all the risk of renting out their trailer.

So why don't they just list their trailer for rent on Facebook marketplace or Gumtree and take 100% of the cut instead, while wearing an identical amount of risk. I see heaps of box trailers for rent on FB marketplace for very cheap.

Apart from some advertising, I see absolutely no benefit or incentive to justify the size of the cut your business takes.
