Vaya Customers Moving to Amaysim

I got the email yesterday that Vaya customers are finally being migrated to Amaysim.
I got an offer that my $9.90 plan will now be $8.90 a month with 4GB of data. I was still on the old Jeenee plan that was $9.90 for 1GB.

For some time now, Vaya has been part of the amaysim family and we’ve been working hard to bring the best of both brands into one. This now means saying goodbye to Vaya, and we are excited to be welcoming customers to amaysim.

GOOD THINGS COMING YOUR WAY
From 22 April 2024 Vaya will stop providing new services, and existing customers will commence being migrated to amaysim from 22 May 2024. The migration will be conducted over several weeks, and all customers will receive details on their planned migration dates. To help customers feel right at home, we’ve built plans that offer benefits such as VoLTE, WiFi Calling, data banking, and 5G on selected plans.

Existing customers should refer to the notice we will be sending between April 22nd and May 1st for detail on when your service will be migrated and details of the new amaysim plan being offered.

Is this some kind of protest ?

  • Vaya used to be Live Connected, the most useless and annoying company I have come across for telecoms.

Vaya con dios, cause vaya won't help

    • What about Buzz Telco, or Xis?

      • Never had the displeasure to know or use them.

    • Vaya employs 40 employees, with 10 based in Australia and another 30 in the Philippines. Mr Ogrin said no job losses are expected from the transaction (from Vaya to Amaysim in 2016)

    How dare they!

Wait… I mean how do I get on this plan? That sounds great.

@freefall101 it was this deal https://ozb.me/o/1Qx6?u=em

Then Vaya bought Jeenee out and they honored the plan. It's been great. Vaya increased the data to 4GB on one of my numbers and 2GB on another

Good job staying on that old plan. My 5.5GB Jeenee plan has now ballooned out to 30GB with Amaysim.

Far more data than I now need but at $22 it seems that any other Optus MVNO charge about the same for less data.

    • I was reading the T&C on the new pan. It's still on a 31 day cycle plus data roll over. You can just keep banking the dr you don't use

      • check your bill because I got hit with triple the cost with the bill noting a 28 day cycle and had to get onto the customer help team today to get it updated.

  • Wtf one of my plans is supposedly going from 15gb ($14.9) to 8gb ($14) I'm getting 7gb less for paying 90c less…. Can they even do that?

    • That's BS. They should be honouring your existing plan. I dunno if there is some way to contact Amaysim before the change over. What date did they give you?

      • 4th June…. The email even made it like they are doing me a favour like 'look here's your new plan you're saving 90 cents!' what a joke!

        • I'd be porting out :(

          • +1

@koplik8: They said I can switch to $16 20gb plan once migration is done, which is OK for me. Will see how it goes.

            • @umoddbro: @umoddbro That's not too bad. Still pretty cheap

  • Anyone know if the bonus data we got for moving is bankable or do we just lose it if we don't use it?

    • I was wondering the same. I have about 4 days left till my new month starts. I'll let you know. I haven't used all the bonus data yet so I'm happy my normal 4GB will roll over

      • +1

I contacted support and they said bonus data is not bankable.

        • Hey what did you end up happening with the plan? Did you get the 20GB plan int he end?
