Long time frugal, first time to OzBargain but is it common for these giveaways to spam the Congratulations You Won reply to multiple people with the link under their Facebook post a week before the winner was to be announced. With the link redirecting you to their website in attempt to provide your credit card details to verify your email and register with their website before you're able to claim the prize. Sounds like this would be a fairly common scam approach as opposed to the online furniture website actually being legit.
The company or page owner does not make those replies, they are clone bots, copying the name [but for a spelling error or by being a personal page rather than a business page]. They are like a lottery, throw out hundreds of posts hoping one sticks and that person puts their bank details in…It becomes easy to spot a scam after reading a few of the suspect replies. If you win you will not be asked for your bank details and most likely get an email or pm.
