  • Thanks Mike - loved the eye fillet deal a few weeks back - great quality meat!

    • Thanks mate. Glad you enjoyed it 😊

Wouldnt touch meat from Coles or Woolies

    • Often even cheaper again at Costco.

*Only for those anywhere near one of the 15 Costco stores in Oz!

My nearest is a 60k return drive from near CBD!! (no public transport)
Makes it quite expensive to get there, along with membership fee💰 So never shopped at Costco.

(Adelaide Costco is only 1 I've seen. Was returning to CBD from Port Adelaide area during holiday.
Unusual for newer Costco - sited with Coles & Aldi, in shopping centre with public transport👍 Makes shopping choice easier.)

        • Sounds like a “you” problem. Just because this doesn’t work for you doesn’t mean it’s not great. Same with Costco.

          • @Suspect420: Maybe you've got a "you" problem 😂
We all need to assess what best suits us😉

As I commented… Only for those anywhere near Costco.
            Great for many of those.

But that's a very limited portion of the population!
Costco only has 1% share of Australian grocery market.

Only 15 Costco stores in Oz.
            Woolies has 2250 stores!!
(2 within 2k of my home)

Spending extra (for transport, membership + time) to shop at distant Costco doesn't make sense for most in Australia.

Moving a long way from city to live where a Costco store is - to solve the "you" problem… Not worth considering!

            I've done my calculations.
            Another "you" problem🤔…
Costco is not suited to my small ($40-50/wk) grocery shopping.
Have all major supermarkets close by. (Walk to Aldi 15 min, IGA 5 min!)
Can walk or catch free bus to shops - meaning a car is not needed. Another saving.
Have large amount of Woolies Rewards points earnt & used to reduce grocery costs (eg $45cr earnt in larger $160 shop last week)!

Sounds like a Costco problem. Costco's strategy is to locate most new warehouses in extreme outer areas of cities. To cut their costs, shifting costs onto customers. Near transport routes for stock delivery, rather than be near existing customers which would cost Costco more in property & distribution.

      • What was costco sale price?
        Thought it's normally above $30

Is there a pick up option for this deal?

    • Yeah the delivery kills the deal for me.

  • +1

Rather whole beef filet @spudshed @$24.99 K in WA anyway.

  • Beef Porterhouse Steak $24/kg @Woolies.

Bought today in Brisbane & cooked. Good, but last week's $25/kg special was better quality & delicious#

No need to buy 3kg (~1kg sliced)
    Available outside limited delivery area

  • Yes guys pick up available free from the Hornsby store
