not a fan, you might as well wear dress socks, lol. these are thin with no cushioning. if you are sprinting and have a tight shoe, these are fantastic.

i own a lot of different brands of socks, and if you want running socks with cushioning, i highly recommend: balega, feetures, or lightfeet.

    • I love feetures but they're not cheap.

      • this is true, but they last a long time for me because i rotate through a lot of different socks. i probably extend the life because i use them only for running and not for all day wear.

    • It's all about individual preference, I've tried balega's and they really didn't work for me, too much cushioning, I like to feel the ground under me but I also prefer neutral shoes and not support shoes for the same reason. Steigens are my go to, never got a blister from them yet

Agree 100% with that. I’ve got two pairs but never wear them as they are more like think stockings than socks.

      Feetures are my preference.

    • I agree with you. These are Not great socks and tear very easily.

I use Le Col for biking, running and daily use. Love them. Have thin summer socks, thick ones for winter and in between for other seasons. Using them daily for 2 years now and they still hold thei shape.

  • what's good about these socks? Do they give lifetime warranty like darn tough?

    • they aren't bad, but they are also not great. i really love my other socks that have a left and right sock because they put padding specifically for each foot.
Steigen doesn't have a left or right sock, or does it even have any cushioning, lol. it does wick away moisture, but so does all the other high end socks.

The Steigen socks are thin and supposed to be tight (like second skin) to protect your foot from developing blisters. I don't think they have a lifetime warranty and for me they do develop holes in the toe area after running about 1500km+. I think they have a blister-free guarantee though.
I consider these to be the best running socks in the market, full stop. Most other good brands like balega, feetures, and lightfeet mentioned above have slightly thicker socks with some cushioning but the shoe tech is so advanced these days that I do not expect the sock to need to provide that. As always make sure you buy well-fitting shoes first.

  • I wear them with my rock climbing shoes because they're super thin and my indoor bike trainer. Wouldn't wear them running. Partner loves them for all occasions, especially the feel. Each to their own I guess. In terms of feel, I'd describe it as a thin not very tight compression sock.

  • Anyone recommend a no show sock that helps with blisters on Achilles….

YMMV but I always used to get blisters for any runs above about 8km (I do between 30-50km a week) from all the usual "sports" socks till I got tipped onto of all places Katmandu dri motions which are roughly $10 a pair when you get them on special.

Been wearing them for longer runs for 3+ years up a longest run of 25km and never had a blister. They also seem to last ages, even living in Brissy and sweating heaps in our 11mths of hot weather every year.

I haven't changed shoe brands (I'm a Saucony fanboy) in that time, just the socks and it's made a world of difference.

    • Thanks bud appreciate your reply.
I was even buying xxl bandaids for every walk.
I'll give those socks a go.
I had a pair of 2xu socks i bought on special but they holed out really quickly…

Funny you say that about Saucony i bought a running pair a year ago (i only walk) but they were really comfortable, they only lasted 9 months so i bought the trail pair but there not as comfortable.

      Cheers
